revisiting some Campbell lectures and I can never not think about how badly SW managed to fuck up the Hero's Journey when so many other Disney films handle metaphor incredibly well

sex is so important in stories y'all.

just a note - campbell isn't saying that sex only belongs in marriage. he's saying that sexual love (not just the act of sex) is the confirmation of marriage (alchemical union!) that is more powerful an more affirmative than marriage in front of a priest. i think it's beautiful
