1/Have been on a few @chiefsforchange calls this week that have clarified design challenge ahead for schools. There are 4 areas that will require significant redesign to support learning over next 18-24 months. They will have to be redesigned so they are mutually reinforcing.
2/
1) The roles & responsibilities of EVERY adult in school community (including families/guardians & interagency staff).
2) The design of assessment to inform & support acceleration of learning & student wellbeing.
3) The school calendar.
and...
3/
4) Role of students in self-directing their learning in alignment w/ real postsecondary pathways.

Questions that emerge include:
1)How are you redesigning in these areas so they work in tandem?
2) What are technical, operational, political & fiscal challenges you’ll face?
4/ As practical matter I don’t see how we get through next two years without SOME redesign in these areas. But bigger question is: do you make a generational shift and redesign for good? The answer to THAT question leads to more questions that I’ll leave for another day.
