NEW: Keir Starmer told his shadow cabinet earlier he intends to send a message to Labour Party members acknowledging concerns raised by the content of the leaked report into the handling of antisemitism complaints, and expressed his disappointment it was put in the public domain
The Labour leader raised the issue at the top of what was a 2 hour meeting, setting out why he had commissioned the independent investigation.

The discussion is understood to have lasted around 5 minutes before the focus switched to the party's response to Covid19.
Starmer is said to have committed to speak to BAME MPs & members following concerns expressed by David Lammy & Marsha De Cordova.

Rebecca Long-Bailey said she was 'appalled' at the contents of the report & called for disciplinary action to follow legal checks
Meanwhile, fellow left-winger Cat Smith is also said to have called for an urgent meeting of the party's governing body so that NEC officers can set the terms of the independent investigation.
NEW: Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner have now written to the parliamentary Labour Party confirming the terms of reference of the investigation “will be agreed by the NEC and will be made public” - also say MPs and members will be updated on progress of inquiry
