I joined @cloudfoundry five years ago this month. I jumped onto a fast moving freight train driven by @sramji and with @chipchilders, @thespinmd and @skmonson already on board.
When I say “fast moving train”, I mean it. @cloudfoundry was formed on 1/27/15. The foundation held a 1,500 person event in May of that year. (Something that never would have happened without the support of the @linuxfoundation team and @angelabianca running the show, of course).
In the next year, we held two events within a month of each other - one in Berlin, one in Shanghai. We launched platform certification and did a *whole* lot more.
The following year @ab415 joined and later took over for @sramji. @caitlyncaleah, @mklogan, @brierogers, @storming and the indomitable @skpodila, along with many more joined the team in the years to come.
The @cloudfoundry community is one of the best groups of people I’ve ever encountered. Unerringly kind, direct and clear in their goals and communication - it’s a group of smart, well-intentioned, focused and pragmatic people - looking to do well and also do good.
Last week, it was announced @chipchilders would be taking over for @ab415 as the executive director for @cloudfoundry. I can’t think of a better successor to lead the community into the future.
I also left @cloudfoundry a few weeks back. It's a strange time in the world, and while I think that everything happening is in the back of *all* our minds right now, I am excited about the new company and look forward to talking more about it, soon.
But right now, I just want to take a moment to thank those who helped me grow, learn and succeed during my time @cloudfoundry.
The community, the @cloudfoundry and @linuxfoundation staff and, of course, @sramji, @ab415 and @chipchilders are some of the best and brightest people I’ve ever worked with. Thank you for helping make @cloudfoundry one of the most successful open source projects in history.
