The Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI) has published its analysis of today’s ONS release.

Key points:
- death rates 59% higher than the same week last year
- excess deaths 76% higher than COVID-19 deaths
- They estimate there have been 25,000 excess deaths in the UK!
