after learning that our household has tested positive for covid-19, i tried to research so many different things but the fact of the matter is, everyone’s experience is different. i figured it might benefit someone if i tell mine. #coronavirus
i’m going to keep up with this thread as we dive into fighting to get through this virus.
some background first: i have bad asthma, i have since i was a kid. i’ve been hospitalized with pneumonia before, had to do breathing treatments growing up, was in a breathing tent before, etc. so my lungs are not the best, that’s been my main fear with all of this.
i also have health issues, i have been unhealthy & losing weight for months consistently. i have celiacs & possibly other autoimmune issues that i haven’t been able to find out about due to having to quarantine from this virus.
since i know about my health issues. i knew it was essential for me to make sure i remain healthy & quarantined, so i have been quarantined in my house consistently for probably around two months.
my girlfriend is an essential worker, but when she would get home from work we would strip her down, disinfect, wash, etc. but we still managed to contract it, & that’s the seriousness that comes with this virus.
even if you are doing all of the necessary precautions you can STILL contract it. that’s why it’s so important to do them religiously & stay home because if we can get it by being extremely precautions, then you can definitely get it by not taking it seriously.
it can happen to ANYONE.
now for my symptoms. so far i feel as if i’ve had symptoms for about 3ish days now. my personal symptoms started out just feeling kind of fevery, my body felt warm & like it was getting ready to come down with a cold. i haven’t had fever at all though.
about two days ago i started having chest tightness. it feels almost like i’m very congested but i have no mucus or anything, i’m completely dry. i’ve been severely fatigued, it’s been hard for me to wake up. i’ve had some stomach issues, not having appetite, nausea etc.
i’ve had very mild ear aches, i mentioned yesterday that i thought i may be getting an ear infection. then a couple of hours ago i lost my sense of smell. i still haven’t got it back yet. i feel achy, it feels like i did a workout after not being active for a long time lol
all in all, nothing at all major. i honestly probably would have ignored it & wouldn’t have even thought i was sick without the positive test. my main concern at this point is my shortness of breath but it’s still mild, ive had way worse dealing w my asthma. - 4/13
update 4/14: last night i felt fine, this morning i’m feeling pretty rough. kind of feel like i got hit by a bus. still no fever, all of my mild symptoms have just gotten worse. i still don’t have a sense of smell. :(
