the Tekken community has been up in arms about the season 3 balance changes. honestly my biggest issue is that a lot of characters are starting to lose what makes them unique among the roster. the one who got hit with this the most is Heihachi
he used to be unique in his high damage output and really oppressive plus frame lockdown. he wasn& #39;t the best Mishima by any means but he was still very much a usable character. the season 2 buff to his ff+2 made it one of the best moves in the game-
and it had everything to do its its evasive hitbox, amazing range, and the pushback it had on block meant that only a handful of characters could punish it, and even then practically nobody could launch it aside from Steve with his then-new i14 rage drive.
but now, season 3 has given many characters a reliable way to punish that move, and other moves like it (it still makes no sense to me that Claudio& #39;s hopkick can launch it now). and aside from that, a lot of the cast have been given higher damage combos and better wall carry.
while I& #39;m sure this seems like a good way to shake things up, all its done is put the balancing in complete disarray. unless you& #39;re an enthusiast there& #39;s practically no reason to use a character like Heihachi now that other characters can do what he does, but way easier
I want to add, I merely used Heihachi as an example. other characters have been shadow-nerfed similarly
