It hurts to see the place I grew up--the place that I still consider home, in a lot of ways--seemingly intentionally sacrifice itself to this thing.
When the governor acknowledges that South Dakota is looking at 70% of the state getting the disease, and that same governor is refusing to issue a stay-at-home order, I don't know what to do with that.
And now that same governor is enlisting the state in a clinical trial for the wonder drug that Trump owns stock in. Whatever. I hope it works. But it's bemusing.
I called her office last week and begged her to issue a stay-at-home order. I told her I'm scared I'll never see my family again.
