#Day19ofLockdown #lockdownsa #lockdown
This morning, my washing machine broke. Yesterday, the printer ran out of ink. Oh, and a door fell off the hinges sometime this week. Metaphoric, me thinks. The wheels feel like they’re coming off don’t they? (Thread)
I chose to see these things getting fixed, replaced and renewed instead. A little like life right now. We have to believe. I know I have to. In the absence of belief & hope, there’s only negativity and doom. There’s no repair nor any rejuvenation because there’s no energy for it.
Nothing grows out of barren land. So, feed the soil with water and care. Give it the sunshine it needs. Talk to it if you have to and see life grow out of it. because if we don’t, it remains lifeless. I’m generally a positive person. I am however, also a person of extremes.
I could go from a bright, deliriously happy place to darkness and despair in a quick second. And like everybody out there, I too have been swaying from one end to the other. Today I chose positivity. Only because the other extreme is going to drag me down to depths that scare me.
I chose to laugh off a broken washing machine, an inkless printer, no secure income and a door that’s hanging inelegantly because I have to. If I don’t, I drown and the washing machine remains broken. You see, life has a sick sense of humour. And I’m going to laugh in its face.
I am going to fix what I can and pray to God that He will help me with the rest. So, I’ll continue sipping on my masala tea while the rain trickles down outside and dream big dreams of a better life for me, for everyone.
I will dream up a stressless world where people feel safe and secure, work hard but live more, have good health and prosper and relish in the little joys, like my cup of masala tea, that when collected can fix the worse days. And broken washing machines too 🙏
