Recently heard from an old friend. They got disenchanted with state education and entered the private sector. Somebody with a lot of foresight wrote a pandemic clause into the parents’ contracts - so whilst the school is in enforced closure, parents have to keep paying fees 1/3
Let’s remember that they CHOSE private education and without the fees the school would close and teachers and staff wouldn’t be paid. But they’re all professionals and many have been furloughed or are technically self-employed. They’ve banded together to petition the school 2/3
over the quality of home learning their children are receiving. They’ve been extremely critical, personal about individual teachers and their online lessons and demanding to the point of incredulity. Let’s remember, nobody in education is having it easy at the moment! 3/3
