In his 2016 campaign for the presidency, Trump described the US in only the bleakest terms, referring to it as a nation plagued by lawlessness, poverty, and violence - and at risk of having "nothing, absolutely nothing, left” His plan was to sow fear and widen the divide. 2

In 2017, he described himself as the "law and order" candidate and "the voice" of "the forgotten men and women." He then signed three executive orders the weeks following his inauguration, threatening the rights of immigrants and citizens. 3

Reminder; this self-proclaimed law and order President was also the same man who did this - using his wealth to unfairly bias a wrongful conviction of the Central Park Five.4

Also, the same man responsible for this: 5

The first entitled, “Border Security and Immigration Enforcement” directly undermined human rights, by including the expanded use of detention centers, limits on access to asylum, enhanced enforcement along the US-Mexico border, and the construction of a 2,000 mile border wall. 6

The second, “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States,” targeted sanctuary cities and local-federal immigration enforcement cooperation. He demanded more ICE agents, while referring to asylum seekers as racists and criminals 7

Not to mention the abhorrent lack of consideration and response to US territories in crisis, as was the case with Puerto Rico - passing the buck and assigning blame in the absence of his response. 8

When our nation experienced a spike in extremist violence - Las Vegas, Charlottesville, Florida & elsewhere - he switched his position on gun control. Where he once demanded stronger background checks, in the wake of tragedy he said, “They're after your Second Amendment," 9

So, if you’re considering voting for Trump to get back at “the Democrats” - be mindful that your actions are not only promoting the ideologies of a madman, they are hurting the entirety of the citizens of this nation. 10

And now this man is playing with your life and the lives of loved ones. Cutting off taxpayer funded aid? I don’t think so.
