I just don't understand what is preventing these people from understanding the connections between wealth disparity and health/accessibility, and what the consequences of lack of accessibility and healthcare are, both in the short and in the long term.

There's enough food and shelter to go around; poverty does not need to exist. There's enough accessibility to go around; inaccessibility does not need to exist.
