We talk about numbers a lot.

There have been 33 homicides from Jan-March. Same as last year.

Many would agree our homicide rate is far too high.

In three weeks 24 people have died of #COVID19 in the City of STL.
This isn’t about comparing murder vs virus. This was just a way for me to contextual numbers.

We’re all sadly very familiar with homicide rates. And this was a way for me to understand the number of deaths we’re seeing from this virus.
For those asking about flu deaths. I dont have the breakdown for STL City. But according to the DOH there have been 76 influenza associate deaths statewide since the start of season (Oct 2019).

There have been at least 147 COVID 19 deaths since March 8. https://health.mo.gov/living/healthcondiseases/communicable/influenza/pdf/week141920.pdf
