i’m gonna tweet my whole experience in drafting vgc for the first time as someone who Has No Clue What They’re Doing™ among competitive players (one dude was t16 worlds19, lmao i can’t compete with that shit)

so i start off pretty okay with mimikyu - my first pick exca was taken right before me so i had to improvise. that was the literal extent of my plan. i would have to seriously rely on googling things in time and praying it worked.

i somehow accidentally manage to draft half of the winning champion’s cup team without a clue as to what i’m doing or what’s even in that team. things seem to be going great until a guy points that out and suddenly “how the heck are you drafting this?” is real.

i keep pushing my luck and i somehow manage to make something vaguely coherent out of my draft. until the same guy goes “i find it hilarious vicky has the 2nd strongest draft” and now suddenly i feel like i just gotta keep it good, but my limited knowledge is running out.

my final draft: mimikyu, conkeldurr, lapras, heat rotom, ferrothorn, gothorita, pelipper, copperajah, duosion, orbeetle, barraskewda, mawile

what i had planned for: excadril and pray lmao

i clearly am doing exactly what my 02 knowledge points about vgc are good for. i’m gonna get murdered by these guys. stay tuned for updates.
