lest anyone get the wrong idea, I do not gloat about anyone having CV19. I have friends & family in NYC, as well as rural Iowa, and I want all of them to be safe and healthy and encourage all of them to 10-foot isolate from other people. It's just easier to do so in rural Iowa.
And I don't criticize anyone who'd rather live in a high density urban location than in a small town. There are lots of advantages to it, but as we've seen recently it has a downside, epidemiologically speaking.
Even in rural states, the CV19 cases are largely concentrated in their largest cities; for example the vast majority (650/850) cases in South Dakota are in Minnehaha County (Sioux Falls, population 180k).
