nct's sub-unit concept is actually so innovative but the execution... i cannot express how badly it was handled
nct dream was supposed to be this cute sub-unit consisting of school boys who'd eventually graduate
1st of all did sm not consider that people would get attached to the group as a whole??? and that making members graduate would not only hurt the fans but especially the members??? removing mark also meant that markzens would obviously focus on supporting 127 instead of dream
mark is the only 99 liner and hyuck the only 00 liner which meant they'd graduate alone but there's a whole 2001 line consisting of 3 members like i do get the graduation concept (even tho its heart-breaking) but sm knew they'd have to find a solution sooner or later
and this gonna sound so wrong but i don't like the "solution" sm showed us today. i love ot7 so much but it feels like some intern is handling this nct dream situation. they should've thought this through before they let them debut
and the solution annoys me because it made the whole sub unit concept even messier than it already was. people hold so many prejudices against nct's concept
"they have 829174 members", "they're just sm's little experiment"
like no one knows what's gonna happen with nct, probably not even sm because they didn't plan anything they're just improvising at this point and it pisses me off so much
now to wayv
wayv's line up is so good, i've never seen a group with a better chemistry than wayv
but they debuted WAY (pun not intended) too late. I cannot believe it took sm so long to debut a chinese sub-group. i'm gonna refer to them as a sub-group in this thread because there obviously is some connection between wayv and the rest of nct and no one can deny it
sm should've entered the chinese market way earlier, the impact of chinese fans is so important, exo is the best example
chinese exo-ls get the absolute least but exo is probably still the biggest boy group there even though bts is arguably pretty much dominating in every other country in this world
sm should've made use of that instead of trying to promote in the us with superm, they should've promoted wayv properly in china, wayv's impact could've been SO HUGE by now idk if people are aware wayv's potential
earlier i referred to wayv as a sub-group because no one really knows what kind of connection there is to nct. the fandom names and lightsticks are similar but the members are so separated from eachother
i'm just gonna end this thread now lmao it makes me so mad how sm messed this up, at this point they should just drop the sub unit concept and make all 3 groups independent from each other
and nct u? fuck you sm for not letting the members use that sub unit to express themselves and their own style. i just know that all of them wrote hundreds of songs but never got the approval release shit
