Good morn fam @TheSteveTheCat @emigre80 @NYCanegirl @DianeToucan @tulipglory @firedup79 @pithypacky @JustAGurLnSwedn @Boschii @TheePitts @RabbiJill @Utleyjacobite I'd like to continue our discussion about the disaffected bernie surrogates. I had a thought about King, Gray, Ball,
Sirota, the people that seemed to be the most upset about Bernie's endorsement. What I find interesting is their attacks on Bernie. I think it was inappropriate in the long term for them to attack Biden, but for them to attack Bernie, for some to refer to him as a sell-out, I
find particularly striking. I also found it interesting that some were still expressing their displeasure with the endorsement many many hours after it was made. IMHO, the reason for this is that Bernie didn't tell them that he was going to endorse yesterday. Now, Bernie said he
would endorse the eventual nominee, so that shouldn't have been a surprise. Yet it seems that it was. Since they continued to tweet and write negative things about Dems and Biden even after Bernie dropped out, perhaps they believed they could convince Bernie to continue to fight.
If Bernie didn't tell them, you have to wonder why. I think it's possible that Bernie knows how toxic these individuals have been, and did not want them to get out in front of the announcement (with their toxicity). That would explain their anger. It also signals the lack of
influence they actually have. Had Bernie thought that they had the ability to move hearts, minds or votes, I believe he would have kept them in the loop, clearly, he doesn't. With their criticism of him, Bernie now knows they were not true believers in his vision, but rather were
mere 'pilot fish' looking to upend the status quo for the sake of the upending. Any thoughts?
