More women and children were killed or died in the third Anfal (Germiyan region) than anywhere else. The reporter who recorded this image wrote that “hysteric and terrified” women were showing with their hands how many family members they had lost or were missing.

What I’m trying to say with this thread is that we shouldn’t remember the Anfal by numbers/statistics, instead we should listen and retell the individual survivors stories.
