1/ Exciting news: We hit 2 million subscribers!

Within 2 weeks of reaching our fifth birthday and 14 months after hitting 1 million, we hit 2 million.

A little history lesson and reflection on @MorningBrew 👇
2/ My cofounder @BUSlNESSBARISTA and I started Morning Brew five years ago with a simple idea—to make business news more interesting for young people.

People wanted something better to keep them informed, so he created a daily newsletter that later became Morning Brew.
3/ We began with two guiding principles:

1. We wanted to write our newsletters in a conversational tone.
2. We wanted to write for intellectually curious readers.

Turns out, that was a pretty good recipe.
4/ We like to use the pop. of U.S. cities as a reference point.

- 2 years ago, we had 160k readers, approximately the pop of Jackson, MS.
- A year ago, we passed 1m readers, the population of Austin, TX.
- We now sit right behind Houston, TX as the 5th largest “city'' in the US
5/ Toward the end of 2018, we debated what to do next, throwing out every idea from virtual book clubs to dress socks.

We always came back to the same question: "What more do our readers want from us?"
6/ Readers wanted the same approach we took to general business news—a quick, informative, and valuable read written in the Brew “voice”—applied to different sectors.

Readers wanted us to help them go deeper into the industries that mattered to them professionally.
7/ That insight led to us launch our vertical franchises, @etechbrew and @Retail_Brew.

This spring, we plan to build on this approach by serving marketing and advertising professionals with the launch of Marketing Brew.
8/ We then recognized that we could take that same tone from our newsletters and apply it to audio. We launched @bizcasualpod hosted by @KinseyGrant.

We're approaching 3 million downloads and have interviewed business leaders including @mcuban, @MegWhitman, and @garyvee.
fin/ A few thank yous for helping us get here:

1 To all of our readers who keep us as motivated as we were on day

2 To the Brew Crew—the incredible team we are humbled to work with each day

3 To all our partners and our now 2 million readers for putting your trust in us
