Today the @SpringerPsych International Journal of Bullying Prevention is reflecting on three of its published articles about the successful @KivaSchool (KiVa) Anti- #Bullying intervention. And how its beneficial for the wider society:
When implementing an anti- #bullying intervention like KiVa into a school there are many considerations such as the bullying rate (Gaffney et al., 2019). However, often overlooked, are the financial costs at which a school should consider when implementing KiVa.
Huitsing et al. (2019) recommended that since the KiVa programme was beneficial to the wider society as a whole, governmental investment could supplement this cost so that schools have more money for other resources.
KiVa demonstrated lower bullying victim and perpetration rates in NZ. Children felt safer in school. Green et al's (2019) research supported the implementation of KiVa into the school curriculum as a societal benefit for New Zealand society as a whole.
In conclusion, the KiVa programme is beneficial as an anti- #bullying intervention in schools and in the wider society. The @SpringerPsych International Journal of Bullying Prevention is proud to host such studies that demonstrate such a societal good.
