Another conference call to review operations at the molecular lab for COVID19 testing that we installed and support for a state.

Everything perfect. So glad that I have a team that is execution focused. Takes a massive burden off of me.

About 930am

Concerned about how #Covid19 could potentially affected smaller states like Ekiti; my state of origin.

After revising the minutes of the last meeting of the Ekiti State COVID19 resource mobilisation committee this morning decided to give a personal donation.
Picked up an emergency ventilator from my office to donate to Ekiti on behalf of the Flying Doctors Healthcare Group.

Will take with me to site today and drop off with team on my way home.

By 1030 I was at the almost 100 bed Eti Osa Isolation centre which I helped build, fund & recruit for as a YPO member in collaboration with Lagos State.

Spent sometime watching the training

#Lockdowndiary
Also was glad to see that our air filters had been delivered to the intensive care unit

A little video of the main ward outside the ICU
This is at the landmark centre in Eti Osa one of the hardest hit areas of Lagos with regard to #COVID19 infections.
Quick stop at Lifestores Pharmacy ; one of our portfolio companies to discuss see how thier state wide home delivery project for drugs is working.

This is essential for people with chronic and acute disease during a lockdown.

#Lockdowndiary
Lifestores are have also partnered with telemedicine services offered by companies like @DoctooraHealth to deliver medicines to patients across Lagos.

#Lockdowndiary
In the car with horrific connection, but managed to complete another Zoom meeting with the other team members leading the Eti Osa Isolation centre effort.

#Lockdowndiary
Now starting another online meeting with my team at the Flying Doctors Healthcare Investment Group.

But its on Google hang outs....
Have no idea why they prefer it to zoom🙄🙄🙄

#LockDownDiary
I am hungry. I haven't eaten since yesterday night. Except the the Ribena I bought at Lifestores.

And this Google hangouts is making my face look unnecessarily round. Which is why I prefer zoom. It gives me a better facial aesthetic.

#LockDownDiary
Team are busy co-coordinating multiple medical transports, delivering hundreds of pieces of medical equipment/consumables like oxygen/PPE/patient monitors etc and also consulting on several ICU projects across the country.

All going well and on schedule.

#Lockdowndiary
But I am still hungry. Craving pounded yam with Edo or seafood okro with juicy prawns.

#LockDownDiary
One of the areas that I really want to ensure I have impact in during this lockdown is food. Hunger is awful.

One of my favourite member organisations ; the women in finance group is doing an intervention in this area. Will continue to support this effort.

#Lockdowndiary
Women are often economically excluded and facing a lot of the economic hardship that this lockdown has brought.

Lives hang in the balance due to the threat of Coronavirus. But hunger kills too. Important for me to support as much as I can

#Lockdowndiary
I wanted pounded yam. But one cannot have everything that one wants in this life.

So I have settled for rice.

#Lockdowndiary
Ah the day has already gone like this.....

#Lockdowndiary
Final stop this evening is the factory.

The WHO's famous mantra for managing the #COVID19 outbreak is 'testing, testing, testing!'.

#LockDownDiary
Whilst we have installed a molecular lab and we know that labs are part of the bottle neck.

We also know that some of the labs aren't even getting enough samples.

These are the first (that I know of) mobile testing booths in Nigeria

#Lockdowndiary
We have been constructing them for our work outside Lagos where we know that drive through solutions wouldn't work optimally because many don't drive.

#LockDownDiary
We have equipment and funding for over 6000 tests across the country!!!

The training support for this project was conceptualized by our portfolio company MDaas.

Inspired by one of the country's we have seen manage the outbreak effectively; South Korea

#LockDownDiary
We have high demand, work will continue till later in the evening and some of the factory team have security concerns.

On site accommodation has been provided for them.

#Lockdowndiary
So many people from different professions working to build capacity and fight this #COVID19 war.

Ramping up testing facilities and access is a major objective for us!!

Check out one of the artisans behind the scenes making it all happen.

#LockDownDiary
Have an 8pm zoom call and I want to do some yoga before that.

I always take my 8pm zoom meeting in my yoga room. It happens everyday to discuss isolation centre.

#LockDownDiary
The lights in my yoga sessions room are blue/dim and I have candles burning. It looks kind of mystical right?

I think the rest of the team secretly think I use the room to do babalawo jazz to deal with my enemies.
