The first question Carrie Lam receives at a presser about economic relief measures is regarding HKMAO's comments yesterday.

Lam said that Hong Kong's high degree of autonomy "doesn’t mean the central authorities have abandoned their powers under One Country Two Systems."
Lam said some lawmakers have gone overseas, asking overseas governments or parliaments to interfere in Hong Kong's internal affairs, even requesting overseas governments to sanction Hong Kong.

"I think this is really blatant interference in Hong Kong affairs."
She added that the HKMAO and Liaison Office are state organisations, and therefore should show support for the Hong Kong government when governance has encountered major obstacles.

The House Committee has had 16 meetings in six months and has yet to elect a chair & deputy chair.
"This is really malicious filibustering with no regard for the interests of Hong Kong."

She finished her answer by saying she "didn’t really want to say such things, because we want to focus our efforts on fighting this epidemic."
