This morning I'm having a difficulty putting my words together as I woke up very angry. Throughout the night, I thought about it. 14 more days in lockdown with zero palliatives. What do you expect people to eat if they can't earn income

This is madness. This is absolute madness.
Almost 50% of the country live in multidimensional poverty. How do you expect them to survive a further lockdown. At this point, we have rethink this lockdown thing. You can't just lock people in their homes with nothing to eat.

It makes no fucking sense.
More than 13billion naira donated internally alone. We can't see the effect because of the calculated money heist going on the government. People are suffering, earning no income, they have to beg to eat, some have taken to criminality. Yet what is supposed to provide succor
for the mostly impoverished population is being stolen. Last week they said they shared money for people in Ona Ara LG and i got in touch with our baale in Awaye who said no such things happened, the three rulers of the community all say they haven't seen jack shit.
Yet the government claim it has given them money. Where is the money, who was it given to? The baale told me, it'll have made more sense if it was done through the rulers as they know the state of the welfare of their own people and know the people who need it most.
They can also keep records of the households who benefitted. As it is the govt claims is has provided relief with zero records of those who benefitted. These same trend is being replicated all over the country.

Wtf do you expect people to eat?
SMEs in the UK are getting 10k pounds just dropped into their accounts. In USA the govt is cutting everyone a cheque. In Canada, they are doing same, closer home in Kenya, each household is getting enough food. We don't expect things to be perfect but at least we expect some
kind of union between a policy and palliatives.

We are are lying to ourselves. It is all a fuckin lie. Our reality is totally different from the approach we are taking. You can't expect people to stay put at home when everyday they stare at depleting supplies with no money
to restock.

If you think it is only poor people that need money right now. I'm telling you that is BS.

Before now, earning just 2.5m a year puts you in the top 10% earners in the country. The reality is even worse when you take amount of savings in accounts.
Less that 2.5% according to the Bureau of Statistics (January) have more than 500,000 naira saved in their bank accounts. Which means out of the 10% top earners, majority still live hand to mouth and are unable to save money. That's our reality. Now coming back to the rest of us
I know we all like to project BS online like we are all balling out and shit but the truth is most of you have no savings. You cannot afford a lockdown if you have no income, you need your income to eat. So, that mentality that only the poorest Nigerians need cash. Dead it!
Lockdown isn't a one size fits all solution. All countries have to take into account their own economic realities. Sweden effected a lockdown only on the elderly and most at risk population. The rest are allowed to go about their businesses as normal. They have built immunity
to a large extent because the lack of lockdown hasn't resulted in a deeper penetration of the coronavirus. We can't just slap policies on ourselves without considering our own realities. Square pegs will never fit in round holes.

The government has to quit it with the BS.
People no dey fear coronavirus again because they are staring at a even bigger monster called hungervirus. The Police has also seen this lockdown has an opportunity to further oppress the people who are already reeling from effects of lockdown on businesses...
See lemme just stop.

While we are trying to look busy while doing nothing. Reality knocks.
