@michiokaku had explained about level of civilization based on the technologies are being used and had classified our civilization as type zero civilization. For type one civilization we must have one language and one culture among inhibitants of the civilization.

When entire civilization moves towards type one civilization, some radicals will strongly oppose it, and it will be the biggest barriers. But once, civilization reaches type one civilization, it will soon reaches type two and three.
