I’ll be talking about care homes and home care again today. Just something bugging me about the telling of this story/these stories. There has been no ‘media narrative’ about care homes being death’s waiting rooms...,

Coronavirus and public health choices may well have turned some, even many, into what @StephenMcGann calls ‘plague houses’. Figures and time will tell us if that is so. If it is, then shame on all of us....,

But what I have seen and reported on for 30 years is yes a collective failure to prioritise policies for vulnerable people old and young but I’ve td and continue to tell and hear countless stories of excellent care and devotion to such people....

‘The Media’ has not created a shit story about frail people - policy has. In fact, parts of the media have shone a light on the worst abuses and shortcomings in care...but never forget the worst abuses and shortcomings have been political ones.

Choices made in Parliament, not newsrooms.
