Non Ebola morbidity & mortality goes up 4 fold during outbreaks

We don’t want to see this for all our patients during covid-19 pandemic

Having paid a FORTUNE to rent the private hospitals we should be ensuring that all urgent non covid activity is maximised to mitigate this (1) https://twitter.com/coscardio/status/1249703073683058689

(2) very real & very substantial risk to patients

Tackling covid-19 without ensuring we have mitigation in place both now for urgent care (cancer & non cancer) & important elective care as we come out the other side

Would be a gross injustice to our patients

IBD surgery

Cholecystectomies

Diagnostics

The important becomes urgent & emergent when left undone

(4) we are getting a lot of support right now but when our efforts our judged in hindsight

A jump in non covid morbidity & mortality will be judged very harshly indeed

And rightly so

ALL patients deserve our greatest efforts at a good outcome
