I really enjoyed chatting to Ryan Tubridy on @RyanTubridyShow this week, about our collecting partnership. We’ve had some questions since about other ways the National Library is capturing the story of this time in Irish life. Our web archiving programming is one of them. 1/5
Our Digital Collection team have been carrying out our web archiving, working with a technology partner, since 2011. They select sites in the .ie domain and then they are archived on a notification basis. You can explore the archive here https://archive-it.org/home/nli  2/5
Once we archive a site, it's preserved in the collections for ever. Even if the website later disappears, we still have a copy of it that you can navigate just like a live website. This is really important, because on average a website is changed or deleted within 100 days. 3/5
As always, the National Library is collecting the story of Ireland as it unfolds. During the #COVID19 pandemic, we are selecting websites that capture the times we live in, including the major efforts across Government, the health sector, and Irish society to combat the virus 4/5
You can help us with this work, by suggesting websites you think represent the Irish experience during this pandemic. It involves filling in a short form and emailing it to us. All the details on how to do that are here: https://www.nli.ie/en/suggest-a-website.aspx 5/5
