The prevailing Corbynista narrative all along is that antisemitism 'has been weaponised' against Jeremy Corbyn. But this is flawed for several reasons. 1/10
First, antisemitism can't be 'weaponised'. It's already a deadly weapon that harms and kills Jews.

You can't have non-weaponised antisemitism. Tropes, caricatures, conspiracy theories, anti-Jewish demonologies all serve to harm Jews, sow hatred and radicalise people. 2/10
Even if we adopt the meaning as charitably as possible in that it is somehow possible to use the existence of antisemitism as some kind of intercontinental ballistic missile to carry a payload of grievances from one sphere of influence over to another, it doesn't work. 3/10
Why? Because the antisemitism has to exist for this to work, and since those who say it is ׳being weaponised' are implicitly agreeing it at least exists, the issue and focus for any genuine anti-racist needs to be primarily on that fact first & foremost. This begs questions. 4/10
How is it that our supposedly anti-racist movement has a problem with anti-Jewish racism? Where does it come from? How does it manifest? Who is promoting it? Where have we gone wrong? Why have we lost almost the entire Jewish vote? etc. 5/10
These aren't however the questions people are prompted to ask when the framing is about 'weaponising' the already deadly weapon of antisemitism. No. What people then ask instead is: Who is weaponising it? Who pays them? What about Israel? Blair, etc. 6/10
The way the discussion is framed determines the way it is dealt with. Anyone who pretends that they care about antisemitism but focuses on framing it as 'weaponisation' doesn't really care about antisemitism. They care about how it might be used by their political rivals. 7/10
It inevitably leads to 860-page factional reports and peerages for whitewashers. It leads to Jewish and non-Jewish anti-racists and whistleblowers having their private details leaked and circulating on neo-Nazi sites by outriders and sitting MPs. 8/10
It inspires even more conspiratorial antisemitism and compounds the harm to Jews and whistleblowers. Instead of focusing on the 'weaponisation' frame, the emphasis must be on the antisemitism itself. Genuine anti-racists should be concerned primarily with that. 9/10
This will never be solved any other way. The reason why the focus isn't there, is because the facts are stark and shameful, and the conclusions one must draw as a result, are uncomfortable for many people who need to believe that they are on the side of angels. 10/10
PS - I have no delusions that there are people who hate Corbyn and his brand of politics and who don't really care all that much about antisemitism nevertheless using it as a way to undermine him. The answer to that is obvious though. Defuse the weapon. Don't be antisemitic. 🤷‍♂️
A classic of the genre. Here’s OJ replying to one of the most notorious antisemitic accounts on Twitter and listed as one of the ‘Engines of Hate’ by the Community Security Trust.
