So, since I’m gonna be tweeting more, I thought I’d start by letting more people know about the upcoming official SCP: Containment Breach short-ish film that’s been in the works for nearly 6 years, “Containment Breach: Run”! (1/12)
Yep, you read that right. However, me mentioning that it’s taken nearly 6 years is probably gonna worry some, if not most of you. (2/12)
There have been multiple reasons for this, but the main ones have been script rewrites that have made CB:R go from a short film to something larger in scope, with more character focus (with it being somewhere over 30 min.) and also the director being busy with his day job. (3/12)
The second of those two reasons is the main one currently happening, since the director, Gage Allen, runs a company that makes video game trailers. However, Gage has been clear that he does not want to abandon this project. He’s practically sold his soul for it afaik. (4/12)
Anyways, to try and keep this as short as possible, I’m gonna talk about the movie itself now. The movie follows a lone janitor working in a containment facility (afaik the same one in SCP:CB) when a containment breach ensues, with a hard R rating. (5/12)
The movie has at least five SCPs, which are 173, 106, 096, 049, and 682 in some capacity, the first four of which are known to be being done via practical effects, and the writers of 106, 096, and 049 did help with the movie, as well as the 049 voice actor from CB. (6/12)
After having read all that you’re probably going to want to see a trailer, and while a full one isn’t out yet, there is a teaser video released in 2014 (yes they know that the sound mixing is bad) and a featurette from 2016 (7/12)
We’ve seen what 173 looks like, but the director/writer/screenwriter/producer, Gage, has chosen to not show us what the others look like until the movie comes out other than very early behind the scenes images, all of which I shall show to you now. (8/12)
Also a neat 173 bts image with the director/writer/screenwriter/producer Gage Allen, who for reference is 6’3 in the photo. (9/12)
Anyways, the only other small facts I can add before I can finish this is that the creator of SCP: CB is creatively consulting the project and that Gage described the rating as him wanting to show what would realistically happen if the SCPs were in our world. (10/12)
And that’s it! If you want to follow the movie it has a Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/ContainmentBreachRun/) and if you want to learn more about the development then I suggest you go here https://scpcb.gamepedia.com/Containment_Breach:_Run. (11/12)
If you want to follow Gage his twitter is @Lotims and if you want to follow his company it’s Twitter is @Player1Trailers. (12/12)
In the meantime to keep yourself occupied, here’s a great 096 short film!
And also this other great SCP short film, SCP: Dollhouse
