Dear PM @narendramodi, wonderful speech. Brilliantly abdicated all accountability by saying everyone was saying so!

What data shata. brrrrr... shoo shoo.

Anyway, in today's briefing let us take a look at how other South Asian countries are faring. Here's a comparison table. 1/n
This one is on the number of tests per million population. We are doing mm.. okay.. compared to our South Asian neighbours. Not the best. But not the worst either. So okay. 2/n
On the number of recoveries per 100 positive cases, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are doing much better than us. We need to find out more about this and understand better I guess. 3/n
On number of deaths per 100 positive cases as well, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are doing much better than us. Where are we going wrong? Similar conditions across our countries right? We again need to study more. 4/n
Our positive detection rate is lower compared to other countries. That is a really good sign. 5/n
No. no. Not at all taking anything away from the we have been doing awesomely great speech. That of course we'll continue.

But important to look at our neighbours considering similar climatic conditions, comorbidity load, immunity status, health-care infra etc. 6/n
Forget those graphs. Simplified comparisons.

But what is interesting is that South Asian countries took different routes to social distancing: from just public holidays, to cluster curfews, to strict nation-wide lockdowns. We will have more on that on the next briefing. 7/n
Dear PM @narendramodi, you should immediately put a team to study the response variations among South Asian nations & results therein. Will be good learning.

Agree. Hindsight is 20/20 & stuff. But hindsight gives us to insight and forms the basis for foresight. 8/8
PS: When I suggested to say detailed order shall follow, I meant immediately.

It reflects very poorly on you dear PM, to announce something on national television, only to say detailed guidelines will come a day later.

Lack of preparedness & seriousness. https://twitter.com/naukarshah/status/1242503899631644673?s=20
