Love learning new things. Learnt to rap from scratch in 2004 with no background in writing. 5 albums down and a tour with my band @dancinglotusuk was the outcome. It all started from church #thread
Went from writing rap only to songwriting in 2012/2013. Discovered I have gift for hooks and melodies.
My years in a band and being around instrumentalists subconsciously built my ability to understand sound design and chord progressions even at a beginner level
2013; learnt Logic Pro and produced my first EP - The Epitome. Followed tutorials on playing the keyboard too.. now I play for my church.
Learning photoshop and illustrator for graphics design which is going well. I’m producing the marketing campaign this year for my church.. and for my personal projects. It’s gone off to a flying start
Credit to @thatkidMikecool , he raised the bar for me in terms of visual marketing. He’s exceptionally gifted! His work inspires me to learn the craft consistently
Now I’m learning to sing. To perfect what I have so far vocally. Breathing, delivery, pronounciation, timing, the works! It requires commitment, especially that breathing part, never knew the importance https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤦🏾‍♂️" title="Man facepalming (medium dark skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Man facepalming (medium dark skin tone)">
Not a stranger to stepping up to such challenges though, I faced those whilst rapping in a band with rock/hip hop genre.
2017, learnt to direct a cast on live stage performances for once again.. my church’s choir day event. I’m releasing my first series of shorts this year. Episode 1 & 2 are ready for publishing
Lastly, I though what if I built a website to house all my work? https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤔" title="Thinking face" aria-label="Emoji: Thinking face">, rather than hire a web designer.. I have an interest in learning how to do it.
Seeing my previous CEO @JasonNjoku ‘s tweet inspired this thread. He’s always taking on new innovations and challenges. His posting of results inspire me. Plus how he’s passing that trait of learning to his kids is defo something I’ll do to mine.
