Hey, colleagues! Some of us might have students we think have stable families & plenty of help at home, but I urge you to *not make assumptions* & *still reach out to them.*

My son's teacher - 30 days in - hasn't reached out to him. He's unmotivated and it feels...crappy.

I should clarify: we've received work directives as part of a group email with other parents. But no direct contact with my son or wellness check on him.

I should also clarify: I am, indeed, a teacher with kids at home, so I am literally not "expecting something I would not expect of myself," as one delightful commenter said. One phone call in 30 days is not an impossible ask.
