The system is rigged against the working poor and middle class workers. That’s the truth. I’m so tired of corporate America. I’m tired of billionaires. I’m tired of income inequality. We are going to have to fight like hell coming out of this to change things. We have no choice.
We have to continue to expand voting rights, no repeal them. We need to continue to insist on a $15 minimum wage. And, a new right to organize. Taft-Hartley and the NLRB was always meant to prevent worker empowerment, not protect it. We need Medicare for all.
We need rent control, and more affordable housing. We need real investment in public transit, not taxpayer giveaways to Uber & Lyft. We need to take on climate change before it takes all of us out. This crisis has to be a turning point. I am tired of Wall Street getting a break.
Let’s give a break to workers for once. Let’s defend immigrants and senior, students and single moms, the incarcerated and unsheltered. Let’s worry as much about bailing out my neighbor as we are about bailing out the cruise ship industry. Let’s not accept “we can’t do that now.”
I’m so tired of a rigged system. We must demand more out of this crisis. Not ask, not beg. Demand.
