I don't disagree with the 'former Bernie people should vote for Biden even if they hate him bc harm reduction' position, but barking at internet lefties on twitter and scolding them will not actually get more Bernie people to take that position, and is deeply counterproductive
You are fully aware that there are a lot of angry bernie people yeah? They won't be convinced by shaming. If the Biden campaign thinks that the Bernie base is a valuable demo that he needs to win over to win in November, he will have to court them, not shame them, into support
If Biden doesn't see them as a valuable enough demographic to make concessions to in hopes of winning over ones on the fence or intending to stay home, then we aren't a part of the strategy anyway, so there's no point wasting your anger on people whose votes don't matter to you
Either way, the animosity toward reluctant bernie people is unhelpful toward Biden winning. And I want Biden to win. A Biden presidency is preferable (if not *good* by any means) to a Trump re-election. So please, Biden people, get your shit together.
I think you do need Bernie people to win, and I'd start making concessions as quickly as possible if I were you. Hire Bernie-wing dems in the cabinet, make Bernie or one of his surrogates VP, etc etc. Make an effort to earn Bernie votes.
If you're not willing to do that you're saying you don't think you need us that badly to win, so then just leave us alone since we're clearly not that important to you. I think that's a mistake, and I think you will lose that way, but at least own it if that's your strategy
