A Coronavirus conspiracy thread surrounding beloved southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd and their 1973 hit Gimme Three Steps:
Most people attribute this song to a promiscuous wife, however I believe the story is much deeper than that. I believe that the CDC contracted Ronnie Van Zandt to create the song so that it could be used as a social distancing anthem when needed.
If you read the lyrics it says “Gimme three steps, gimme three steps mister.” The average male step is about 31 inches, three steps would be 93 inches, well over the CDC recommended 6 feet of social distance.
On October 20th 1977 many of the band members of Lynyrd Skynyrd perished in a horrible plane accident in rural Mississippi. I believe foul play was involved.
I’m not sure who would have wanted to do this. Was it the Chinese government? Was it someone who shorted the stock market? Was it Mark Zuckerberg? Could the virus itself have gone terminator style to try and end the band from ever gaining popularity?
Either way, Ronnie was survived by his brother Steven who filled his brother’s place in the band and helped them continue to grow popularity and spread the message of social distancing
If you learned anything from this thread it should be to give people three steps when in public to limit the spread of COVID-19 and save the lives of many
