Reason #1:
FF2 is a broken game. As much as I love FF2, Its gameplay is extremely broke. A lot of people would agree. With a remake, there is potential to improve on YEARS of trouble, and give veterans the nostalgia trip of a lifetime.

The story is a lil wonky donky. There are a handful of things that can be explained. But knowing this, a potential remake would allow more creativity, make the story more exciting. More thrilling! Think of the Wild Rose Rebellion with a full backstory!!!!

I really wish that everyone would stop trashing on FF2 and earlier games. Without them, we wouldn't have gotten to the FF7R we have now. It doesn't help that Squenix is trying to bury the past either.

The graphics difference! I will not discredit FF7 and its graphic update, that's really awesome. But imagine what it would be like, from an 8-BIT game, to a fully rendered model and graphics!! Take DISSIDIA NT for example!!

The OST. THE OST. While is has room for improvement, It has the iconic theme, The Rebel Army. Imagine how POWERFUL THAT WOULD BE!!

The weapon gameplay. Oh my GOD. while Cloud has that big buster sword, imagine getting to play with multiple weapons at once(if you haven't played DISSIDIA yet that is). That is the most intricate and iconic way to fight.

Anyways that's really all I can think of. I'm just thinking unrealistically because Squenix will never see this but i feel like i had to get it out there to my (0 people) audience.
