Trump will say he has the cure: Open everything up. That is something reasonable people and experts will oppose. Trump will depict experts as nefarious “Deep State” actors and the enemies of the people. He’ll rev up the rage machine...

and he’ll cast himself as a champion of liberty against those who would destroy the economy. He’ll vaguely call for action. When his base starts using violence, he’ll deny responsibility.

Trump will keep calling for the “opening of the economy,” knowing the experts will have to oppose him — thus creating more scapegoats and targets for the mob. Little militia-run “sanctuaries” will start popping up.

That will leave states with the choice of letting vigilantes take over some towns and counties, or commit to using force to enforce the law. When a governor enforces the law, footage of the action will be used to radicalize more people.

And, just like that, we’ll have a fascist klepto-state. Within a year, we’ll be out of NATO and allied with Russia.

Am I nuts? I hope I am.
