The basic flaw in salesmanship the Democrats will run into in November is this: They are, once again, demanding voters take action in order to avoid a negative outcome, rather than encouraging them to take action in order to create a positive one.
To most voters, not only does the “Vote Me Because I’m Not Him” strategy reek of political bullshit, it also makes Dems appear frightened of their opponent by default, forcing them to enter the confrontation from a position of weakness. This has never worked in my lifetime.
If the corporate wing of the Democratic Party (nearly a redudant term) cared about beating Trump (it doesn’t) then its messengers would be spending more time highlighting Biden’s strengths (he has none) than preemptively blaming healthcare advocates for the rise of fascism online
Not to belabor this point—but you don’t win an election by telling people what you’re not going to do. “There isn’t going to be a revolution” insults the people who need solutions only a revolution provides. “I’m not Trump” insults people who were hurting long before Trump. Etc.
