For a long time growing up I felt shame about being Chinese in America.
Not unlike so many immigrant children I would live as an American publicly at school, with friends, but feel like I was living in China at home.
I tried to separate the two identities as much as possible.

But it would be impossible during lunch when I would bring out “weird food” that my mom packed — like scrambled eggs between two pieces of white Wonder bread — while everyone else munched on Lunchables and Dunkaroos.
Now though, thanks to changing tastes and *~*~*INTERNET*~*~* social sub culture platforms over the years, it is totally cool to share ethnic food.
I thought about that tonight as I prepped dinner and thought about sharing what I made.

As many people know I have a system for a lot of things, including my wardrobe, and meals is no different.
For dinner, I’ve been having some variation of tomato egg with a vegetable and protein and rice almost every night during quarantine. It is supposed to be very nutritious ;)
What are you appreciative of tonight? Mine was just silly and in the moment of cooking. Are you doing well?
I hope you’re doing well. Maybe focusing on the small things, small joys.
Take care of yourself.
Focus on what you can control, focus on what brings you meaning, focus on how you can help others.
If we all do this we can stay clear headed and ensure things don’t get out of control, become prolonged.
