The lyrics to Kesha’s Tik Tok are a scarily accurate representation of the trends on TikTok, including some of the worst/most toxic

terrifying
> I'm talking pedicure on our toes, toes

there is a massive beauty community on tiktok
>Boys blowing up our phones, phones

while I've definitely not lived this, I've seen quite a few women creators discussing cis white dudes either sliding into their DMs, telling them how they're wrong, or mansplaining
>Drop-topping, playing our favorite CD's

re-using audio and connecting over them is literally the basis of the app
> Don't stop, make it pop
> DJ, blow my speakers up

there have been several artists who have made it - either super mega big or enough to live off of - because of their audio going viral on TikTok
>But the party don't stop, no

this one can be associated with so many things, but I think the two most prevalent are the infinite content and folks literally going to bed with tiktok and staying up hours longer than they otherwise would
> Ain't got a care in world, but got plenty of beer
> Ain't got no money in my pocket, but I'm already here

alt-right tiktok
> And now the dudes are lining up 'cause they hear we got swagger

thirsty tiktok
>But we kick 'em to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger

tiktok disproportionately surfacing eboys and other stereotypically 'normal' people
>Boys tried to touch my junk, junk

this one is particularly disturbing and why I made this thread - there's a pretty awful trend from young cis straight white eboys that we, um, don't need to discuss in detail here.
> Gonna smack him if he getting too drunk, drunk

there is a large and vocal amount of support for calling out shitty people and practices on TikTok
