minjoon ABO au: alpha joon & omega jimin enters a loveless marriage
- angst
- east asian society
- joon doesn’t love jimin at first
- eventually happy ending
“you need to think about married, you’re already 28, jimin.” his mom told him, he’d wondered why she’d say that. of all people she should be the only person to know why nobody wanted to marry him.
“if you could get an alpha who’s willing to marry someone like me, then i’ll gladly do it.” he replied, and saw her eyes lit up.

“actually there’s one, he’s a director, he’s good looking,” his mom handed him a photo. “he doesn’t want to marry,
said he wants to wait for his first love or something silly like that, so his parents are pretty desperate. will you meet him?”

“sure,” jimin replied, knowing full well his mom already prepared everything.
“great, i already arrange a blind date. this friday at XXX restaurant, yeah? please do it for me, jimin. you have to try, the doctor says you still have a chance to have pup. even if it’s slim, you still have to try.”

jimin could do nothing but listen to his mom.
jimin is not unsightly, he’d say. he had a great career as a dance instructor, he’d had many alphas trying to court him before. his family’s well-off, he’s educated and in general, a well-behaved member of this society.
just that when jimin was born he wasn’t in good health, being a male omega is also something rarer, making it harder for doctors to diagnose his condition. there was some problem with his kidney, and he spent all his childhood years taking medication,
he got better overtime, but his reproductive organs suffered a great amount of damage. he’d still had heat, but his chance of bearing a pup is less than 5%, and usually, this wasn’t a great news for any alpha who was trying to court him.
jimin didn’t mind, though. he could use suppresants, and he’s alone by himself just fine. but his mom wouldn’t accept that. everyone has gotten married at the age of 23-25, she’d been invited to all her friends’ children’s wedding,
and she’d wanted the same for her own son. it was a little embarrassing for the family if nobody’s interested in jimin despite his status. and, even if jimin can’t give her a grandkid, as least jimin will have someone to take care of him when she couldn’t.
jimin got to the restaurant a little earlier, he ordered a glass of wine for himself while waiting for his date. it was a fancy, private place, and he can barely heard the people in other tables talking.

“good afternoon, you must be park jimin?”
he looked up as the alpha he saw on the photo had arrived.

“yes, nice to meet you.” they shook hands, the man introduced himself, and jimin sat back to his chair, observing the alpha. tall, good looking, the photo didn’t do him justice,
smelt *really* good, but maybe it’s because jimin’s an omega. calm and collected. charming, the way he smiled at the waitress.

they small talked first. it wasn’t that awkward, but there’s definitely an uneasiness in their conversation.
“so, the matchmaker said you’re an infertile omega?” namjoon asked.

„not exactly true, but my chances are slim. i was under a lot of drugs when i was young and it affected the development of my womb, so yes, could be unlikely that i‘ll be with pups.“
„then i‘ll also be blunt with you. i love someone else. i intended to wait for her, but she‘d just gotten married to someone else and my parents think that was the last straw.“

„i understand.”

“i’m sure i’d want to get married in about 5 years,
when i can get over my first love. but my parents insisted on *right now*, and i can’t take their laments anymore, especially since i’m an only child and an alpha. they have people they need to compete with.”

“if you want to see someone else,
we can act like this date is unsuccessful. as you know full well i’m not a normal omega. i’m sure your parents expect grandchildren?”

“so, at this rate nobody’s gonna marry you, huh?” namjoon smiled, but it wasn’t a malicious smile, there was barely any feeling behind it.
“well...” still, jimin felt mortified. he’ll be fine, thank you very much, don’t need to rub it in his face.

“we could try dating. you’re a pretty omega, i must admit. it’d be a suitable alliance for our families. and,
maybe it’s a good thing we won’t have kids.”

the implication, jimin would only understand after he had fallen in love with namjoon.
needless to say jimin’s mother was overjoyed as namjoon came to pick the omega up for their second date. which was also another dinner night. namjoon asked jimin when his heat was to prepare his days off, and jimin felt super weird.
surely namjoon’s doing this with the intention of them getting married in a few months. but should jimin go along with it? he, no doubt, wanted to marry someone he loves, and wanted that person to love him back. but with his situation,
and too many heartbreaks in the past, even if he loves someone, they wouldn’t just accept an omega like him. he’d been bitter during his early 20s, but now it’s just a dull pain in the back of his mind.
“are you cold?” namjoon asked him when they got back to the car, the alpha took off his coat and wrapped it around jimin before he lightly covered jimin’s head to avoid bumping when he got into his seat.

namjoon is nice, and caring, always polite.
he is someone jimin could tolerate. he doesn’t love jimin, but maybe both of them shouldn’t asking too much of each other.

“my heat is in three days...” jimin whispered.

“i remember. do you prefer to stay at your house, or come to mine?”
“when i’m off suppressant, i’d feel more content when i’m surrounded by alpha pheromones... is it too forward to spend our first heat together at your place?”

“it won’t be. i’d like that better. so it’ll be easier for me to prepare the necessities.
i’ll pick you up the day before, is that okay? i should also make sure to your mother that you’ll be safe in my hands.”

so namjoon was also thoughtful. jimin won’t expect his heat to be a perfect one, but if it goes on smoothly then he could really think about their future.
jimin was restless the entire day. he went shopping with his mom, bought all the vitamins and his favorite snacks. he teached the afternoon class for about 3 hours and went back to his place, took a shower. he still lived with his parents, and they’re also home to greet namjoon.
he sat aside observing namjoon talked to his family. the alpha wasn’t exactly cordial, but the conversations were pleasant enough. namjoon excused for himself and jimin, so jimin’s mother handed him a basket with everything her precious son needed.
the last heat jimin spent with an alpha was several years ago already, they broke up, of course. he hardly remembered how to deal with a full-blown heat. namjoon must’ve sensed his nervousness, when they get back to the older’s apartment,
namjoon pulled jimin into a hug, so that his scent can engulf the omega. it did make jimin feel safer, he buried his head in the crook of namjoon’s neck and tried to keep his heart calm. the heat must’ve been really close already, with the presence of an alpha.
“are you okay?”

“yeah... i’m ok. just...” jimin inhaled, “a little nervous that’s all.”

“trust me.” namjoon’s fingers lightly brushing at his nape, reassured jimin but also sent chill down to his spine.
namjoon opened the door and led him inside, a few steps and jimin already felt overwhelmed. *alpha, alpha,* his mind trying to register the situation, and he clung to the alpha as he felt incredibly weak.

“shh, it’s ok.” namjoon kissed jimin’s temple,
supporting jimin’s waist, he moved the omega to his bedroom. there’s not quite the needs to be filled up yet, jimin’s mind was just foggy, and namjoon’s scent made him feel warm, safe, so he’d whimpered when they broke out contact.
“just a sec,” namjoon told him when the omega grabbed his forearm and wouldn’t let go. “i need to bring a few thing inside, okay? jimin, can you behave? i’ll be back with you really quick.” he kissed jimin, this time on his cheek. “yes?”

“...oka—okay.” jimin stammered,
he lay down and buried his head in the pillows, they reek of namjoon and can temporary give him a sense of contentment. after a while, his body was getting little feverish, or so he thought, so he sat up and tried to take up his clothes.
but then his hands wouldn’t listen to him, his fingers can’t even make an exact movement. frustration got into him, he’d make little weeping sounds as he’s fumbling with the buttons.

“what’s wrong?”
namjoon came back inside with a box. he left it on the floor to immediately get to jimin, he grabbed jimin’s hands and the omega inside was euphoric to *feel* his alpha’s big hands holding his smaller ones.

“i can’t... i can’t get it out. i feel hot. these,”
jimin gestured to his clothes. “isn’t helping at all.”

namjoon chuckled. “let me,” he said. and then he gently took off jimin’s clothes. and jimin wrapped his arms around namjoon’s neck, his lips finding namjoon’s. he felt so happy, so secure,
he needed to be close, so close.

and namjoon didn’t pull away. instead, the alpha fully embraced jimin. he had to stand up, though, with jimin still in his arms, to turn off the light. and then he tucked both of them to bed,
wrapped his giant *alpha* blanket over them as jimin tried to glue himself to namjoon’s chest. his heat will be brutal this time, he thought, just the night before yet he’s already this needy.

“i’m not always this needy,” jimin pouted, “it’s the heat.”
“i know.” laughed namjoon. he leaned down and kissed jimin, and jimin felt good, felt better already.

“sleep, i’ll be here when you’re awake again.” namjoon told him, so jimin closed his eyes and let himself drift away.
when jimin opened his eyes again, it was still dark, and he took some time to register that he’s in namjoon’s bed, with the alpha spooning him.

“joon...” his voice was hoarse as he tried to shake namjoon awake. “please wake up... i need...”
the alpha squeezed jimin’s body a little tighter, before he startled awake too. the heat seemed to be affecting him too, as the first thing he did was locking his lips with jimin’s.

“how are you?” namjoon murmured.
“good, actually,” nodded the omega, “except i’m thirsty... and also i feel hollow... down there... and my insides are insanely itching... i’m trying my best to... to talk to you like a sane person.”

he made namjoon laughed. the alpha grabbed a bottle of water on the floor,
opened it for jimin and watched him finish in one go. and then he kissed jimin, and his hands were doing a really good job too. and jimin felt like crying but it was okay, every heat will be like this.

jimin was one of the few people who doesn’t have that of an intense heat,
he was grateful for that. he’d still have a constant need to be filled up, but it wasn’t as severe to think he’ll die without an alpha’s knot. he’d feel sad if his alpha wasn’t around, he’d feel so abandoned he starts to whimper while jacking off. he thought that was pathetic,
so he refrained from being that level of intimate and just used suppressant, they helped him to have some control.

namjoon seemed to be under the influence of jimin’s pheromones. the alpha’s being rough just enough, although,
jimin didn’t think now he can tell the difference between rough or gentle. his mind was just floating in dense mist. namjoon shoved his cock inside jimin and it felt so good and sometimes stars flashed before his eyes, but he can’t open them because everything was so humid,
a mix of tears and saliva and sweat and he’d only heard the squelching sounds. he desperately tried to find namjoon’s lips and the alpha responded by biting him, his mouth, his neck, his ears, leaving bite marks all over his body, and he’d feel so happy, feel so *owned*.
four days passed like a blur. they fucked. namjoon fed him. namjoon dragged him into the bathroom, they fucked before, during, sometimes after shower. they slept. they woke up and jimin climbed on top of the alpha. the cycle continued. nothing too unusual for a heat.
so when it broke at the fifth day and namjoon woke him up with breakfast instead, jimin was awfully quiet. he needed time to think about all of this. everything’s going smoothly. he looked around and namjoon’s place didn’t look like that of a sketchy guy either,
there’s plants, books, music records, figures, if anything, this place looked a bit nerdy.

“how do you feel?” namjoon asked as jimin finished his soup, after a longest time.

“good. quite good. thank you for the meal.” jimin replied earnestly.
“it’s nothing. it’s what i should do.”

“um... can you take me back home?” he needed to think in his room, not here.

“right now?” the alpha surprised. “i still have the whole day off, you can stay here until your heat cool down entirely.”
“i think i’m fine. it’s okay. if you don’t want to i could call my father...”

“no, all good. i’ll take you home. put on your clothes and come out whenever you’re ready, okay? i’ll wait outside.”

jimin nodded. he felt strangely upset, but he couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason.
“so, you’ll seriously thinking about that?”

“i’m not sure, but i get the feeling that he’s a good person. i mean, he isn’t after me for my family’s money or my body? we’re helping each other.”

“i don’t know, jimin,” hoseok frowned,
“i don’t know if it’s good or not. you two don’t have feelings for each other.”

“but, we can develop feelings in the future, don’t you think? he told me that if we get married he would stay faithful to me, spare him the trouble of dating, he’s a workaholic so that makes sense.
he’d also said that he’ll try to make me happy. after all, to get married is to make a promise with each other, so i’ll try to make him happy too. and i know it’s difficult for me to bear pups but his mom was really nice to me and she said i could take all the time i need.”
“he’s not just not in love with you, jimin. you said he’s in love with someone else.”

“she’s married and his parents didn’t approve of the relationship. he said he will get over her in a few years.”

“you’re just gonna keep finding excuses for him, don’t you?”
“yeah,” jimin thought he’s pathetic. he tried to think of all the positive sides, but he still had a lot of doubts and he thought talking to hoseok could somehow calm him down. his friend was supposed so reassure him that it’s gonna be fine. but instead,
hoseok shared the same sentiment.

“does it really have to be like that?” hoseok asked, and jimin knew hoseok had always been there for him and had always took care of him even when they were highschoolers, he only wanted the best for jimin.
“mom already made plans with namjoon’s parents. and a part of me is so tired of alphas turning me down, hyung. those i loved and cried for, those i didn’t love. i don’t think it makes any difference now,
at least i’m still unhappy but my parents can show their friends that i’m not entirely damaged goods. that an elite alpha is willing to wed me and building a family with me. all i need now is your blessing.”

hoseok seemed sad, “jimin ah, you’ll always have my blessing.”
jimin spent another heat with namjoon, this time he stayed for a little longer. namjoon took him to dinner after and they went back to his place and had sex again. everything seemed so easy. the alpha fell asleep with his back to jimin while the younger lay awake,
thinking about the days ahead.

it’s gonna be okay, it’s gonna be okay, he told himself. the alpha he chose is almost better than most, and he treated jimin better than anybody before. maybe they could be friends, and could support each other in the future.
the wedding ceremony passed in a blur. jimin remembered namjoon swore to love and cherish him until the end, and he did the same. and they kissed, and he looked over and he saw tears of joy in his mom’s eyes. namjoon held his hand as they came table to table to greet the guests.
they didn’t touch each other on the wedding night because namjoon was exhausted from drinking he passed out right when they got to their room. and jimin changed his husband’s clothes after wiping his body with a warm cloth.
they received a lot of gifts, and money, namjoon told jimin he can keep it. the omega doesn’t know what to do with it so he opened an account and put the money there. they moved into a bigger apartment namjoon’s parents had bought for them.
namjoon asked if jimin wants to have his own room, the omega thought about it and he said he’d like them to share a room like a real couple, namjoon made no protest. so jimin was also in charge of decorating, he had more free time than his husband so he’d gladly do it.
they had their honeymoon only a month after the wedding due to namjoon’s hectic schedule. but jimin throughoutly enjoyed it. they went to bali, the resort was right by the sea, namjoon hardly talked on his phone,
instead, he went along with jimin to try all the great food, to visit the monkey forest, watch the sunset at uluwatu temple. they stopped at the local market on their way back and jimin bought hand-made gifts for his friends and family, and when he was done,
namjoon was waiting for him and the alpha offered to carry all the bags so they could hold hands. they went to the beach the next day and namjoon helped him to put on sunscreen, and while jimin enjoyed the sun, his alpha was reading a book and ordered cocktails,
and he’d laugh when the waiter flirted with him, said he’s already married with the prettiest omega. jimin tried not to feel smug, but his cheeks heated up and he thought namjoon’s dimple was miraculously cute.

they did manage to have (lots of) sex on their honeymoon.
his job now became a part-time job, and his full-time was accompanying namjoon’s mother to shop or to dine with her friends. jimin was always loved by elders, it was his charm. soon after he’d learnt all the birthdays, all the anniversaries’ dates in his husband’s family.
he’d learnt to say only the neccessary things, and everybody loved him for that. and he’d felt happy when namjoon tried to make the same effort, although sometimes the alpha had a specific expression that jimin realized all the social meetings was bothering him,
but he never made a complain.

and their life was good. namjoon was a great husband. jimin liked to build furnitures for their home, and although namjoon prefered to buy them instead, he’d still sat up with jimin and both of them tried to put on the bookshelf.
jimin would laugh because namjoon was so clumsy he almost made them buying a new set, but jimin thought the inclined bookshelf was cute. they had date night twice a week, and they talked, as friends first,
but gradually jimin became comfortable enough to talk about his feelings and namjoon about his doings.

“i knew you’d be great for him,” namjoon’s mom said as she and jimin are having lunch together. “i’m so happy you two got married.”
“thank you, eomeoni.” jimin smiled politely.

“i won’t put any pressure on you. but do tell me when you have good news, yeah?”

“definitely,” jimin replied. “although i won’t get my hopes up, eomeoni, i’m sorry. you know about my health.”
“it’s okay. i believe we could wait for a while, and then if it’s not going well, we can always look for a beta surrogate.”

“i suppose...” that’s a great idea, jimin had never thought about it, though. it was expected for omega to be able to bear their own children.
“to be frank? i know there are other omegas trying to go after my namjoon, but none of them are equal to him. i didn’t love your husband’s father at first, but we believe in the same value, we came from the same background and had the same upbringing. that’s what matters, jimin.
so you just need to get yourself comfortable. i know you youngsters are all about love and passion, but that wasn’t always the case with people like us, right?” she chuckled. “namjoon will come to his sense when his father retired and he took over the bussiness,
he’ll realize he needs a competent spouse to help him, not some low life omega who can’t even earn some respect from his peers.”

is this about the person namjoon is in love with? jimin asked himself. he got curious but he didn’t wanna appear rude and jealous.
“but i do think love is a really important factor, eomeoni.”

“after a few years there won’t be love anymore, there will just be responsibilities, so if there’s love or not it doesn’t matter. you’d think we mate for life but we’re far too evolve from that.”
“but he did wait for you to come around, for a long time, did he not? he only married me because he had no choice.”

“well, me and your abeoji we didn’t approve of that omega not just because of her status.
we’re his parents and we know there won’t be anything good come out of it. you, on the other hand,” she smiled. “we like you, you’re honest and sincere to us, but you can also be firm when you need to. you know what’s best for namjoon and you aren’t demanding,
and i like someone i can stand.”

jimin didn’t answer, he looked down at his plate and picked up a piece of meat with his fork.

“he’ll come around. just give him time. you’ll always have our support.”
jimin’s heat usually last about four days and he needed a day after to fully recover, namjoon always took six days off to be with him. it’s normal, it’s what an alpha should do. namjoon occasionally gifted jimin jewelry and shoes, he supposed that’s also a normal thing to do.
he’s conviced that namjoon really devoted, and tried his best, to make both of them feel like they’re in love. and he’s really appreciated that.

but, it’s his birthday and namjoon didn’t remember.
it was a weird feeling. namjoon came home and greeted jimin, kissed his cheek. and that was it. to think he’s always prepared but he didn’t remember jimin’s birthday, only a month after his own. jimin had gifted namjoon a watch, which the alpha wore regularly after that.
“today is my birthday, you know.” he’s whispered as they were having dinner, and namjoon was surprised. he even apologized for that. and jimin thought it wasn’t that big of a deal, he only needed to be petty a little. the next day,
namjoon got him a whole boots collection with a happy birthday card, and jimin went to celebrate with his friends that night.

it’s a good deal. jimin slipped into bed and crawled next to his alpha, and namjoon turned from the book he’s been reading and gave jimin a kiss.
when jimin let his hand roaming inside namjoon’s pants, when he sat on top of the alpha and stroking himself, let his wet cunt rubbing against namjoon’s cock through the thin fabric. he thought this could be enough. this thing they have could be enough for jimin.
before he knew it, they’ve been married for a year already. and namjoon already planned their anniversary eventhough jimin said he doesn’t need to if he’s busy. namjoon smiled at him and he studied jimin’s hands, and he said he doesn’t want jimin to feel lonely,
doesn’t want jimin to feel like his friends have it better than him, doesn’t want jimin to feel inferior to his peers. he said he wants to show everybody that they are happy.

jimin didn’t tell namjoon, but he thought he had fell in love right that moment.
life was happier after that. there was always this *distance* between then, but jimin told himself it‘s okay, it‘ll get better with time. jimin went to work for several hours a day, he went home and cooked, he met up with his in-laws.
namjoon took him to the company‘s party and later, to dine with his boss‘ family. everybody loved jimin. he was content. he‘d made plans for the future, he‘d decorated the house, *their home*. he was content. namjoon wasn‘t overly affectionated with jimin,
but he was a great husband. he listened to everything jimin said, he made efforts to remember them, he treated jimin‘s family the same respectful way he treated his family. jimin was sure he‘d be a good father.
jimin won‘t ask for anything more than this, he didn‘t need *the spark*, it was better this way. and he was more than happy when he can sit next to namjoon on a lazy sunday afternoon, doing crosswords together. it was oddly domesticity and jimin loved it,
the omega in him had longing for settling down, he just wasn‘t able to find the right one all those previous years.

there was this one evening, jimin came home early to find his husband asleep on the couch. he went to check and turned out namjoon had a really high fever.
he‘d cooked some soup. he‘d wiped the alpha‘s body with warm water. and he‘d stayed by his side all night. he felt strangely powerful when namjoon was weak and tired. he liked it when namjoon relied on him, jimin loved to take care of his loved ones,
and was overwhelmed with happiness when namjoon hugged him and said ‚thank you‘. he had replied namjoon with a kiss, wishing that they could be a little bit closer, heart bursting with joy when the alpha kissed him back.

they did get closer after that.
they travelled once every few months. jimin wasn‘t too shy to display his affection for namjoon anymore, and the alpha also seemed to be much more at ease with him. they talked. about everything. sometimes even about namjoon‘s ex-girlfriend.
they met in highschool and namjoon never got over her. jimin‘s husband told him about how he was a lonely child througout his childhood, pressured with the expectation from his parents to be the best alpha out there,
his parents firmly believed that in order for namjoon to succeed there should be as little affection as possible, as they don‘t want to make the alpha sentimental (jimin also kinda figured it out already).
the other omega was the only one who did genuinely care about namjoon‘s feelings, but she wasn‘t an elite nor having outstanding intelligence, and therefore deemed unfit for him by his parents.

jimin can sense the bitterness in namjoon‘s voice when he talked about this,
and he too wasn‘t confortable with hearing namjoon talked about someone else. so he never mentioned, never tried to pry into namjoon‘s past anymore. he only hoped that if he loves namjoon enough, then maybe one day the alpha will finally have feelings for him too.
time flies, and, in the blink of an eye they had been married for three years. a lot of things had change. jimin wasn’t used to spend his time alone anymore. he woke up early while namjoon was still sleeping, he went to the living room and started packing the gifts
he had bought for his family on their recent trip. and he thought, maybe this is the time. it wasn’t that early but wasn’t too late, maybe it’s the right time for them to have a baby. they had sex last night and jimin felt so secure and stable.
they had money and all the resources, and their marriage was a pleasant one, although jimin was much more in love with his alpha than said alpha in love with him. they had responsible to each other and they were always open to one another.
he’ll tell his mother-in-law when they met again. he couldn’t hide his excitement when he told namjoon what he thought.

but the alpha didn’t seem to be on the same page with him.

and then one month later, after they had spent jimin’s heat together.
namjoon told him he was thinking about a divorce. he told jimin that in the past three years he had tried really hard to love jimin but he thought about them as friends. and his ex-girlfriend was recently separating from her alpha, and namjoon never stopped loving her,
so he would like to have a chance. he didn’t care about what his parents would say, he wasn’t depend on them anymore. they had been only texting because he didn’t want to hurt jimin (how kind of him) and he wanted to help jimin get through his heat
before coming clean (how super kind).

and then he said something about he was glad they hadn’t have kids yet, he had married jimin thinking if this didn’t workout there won’t be a child hurting in the process.

and jimin’s world fell apart.
there were apologizes, and namjoon emphasized that he wouldn’t have the courage if it wasn’t for jimin being so understanding, so supportive of him, he’d sorry for hurting jimin but he thought both of them deserve better,
and jimin deserves someone who would love him wholeheartedly, although namjoon really did try to be that person. the alpha probably told him a lot more things, but jimin didn’t remember anything anymore.

at first he was in denial, and then he started to cry,
and then he started to beg namjoon to stay. it wasn’t his proudest moment. he had moved out of namjoon’s apartment, *their home*, thinking the alpha still needs time to reconsider. his parents-in-law assured him that they won’t let jimin be replaced,
and he believed them. he’d cried so much after that. his parents were so angry with namjoon. jimin’s alpha wasn’t contacting anymore, and it felt suffocating as jimin waited everyday, for anything from the older.

and then one day jimin’s dad came home and he said,
there’s nothing to fix anymore, you don’t need an alpha like that. and jimin had understood. three years of his life and even his love weren’t enough for someone to feel satisfied. despite the fact that he never asked namjoon to marry him, it was the alpha who said
they should try this, and it was also him that promised he would treasure and love jimin for the rest of their life. and then jimin blamed himself to blindly, unconditionally believe in the ‘change-of-heart’ namjoon said he will have in the future.
it was hard, after all the time jimin thought he could trust someone again. once again he was left to think that he was a useless omega, as a damaged male omega who can’t even conceive a child he had no value in this life. if he was normal, like most of the omega out there,
he would have no problem finding a suitable mate and wouldn‘t have to suffer this much. his body and soul longed for namjoon, yet he understood there was no point in trying to get back as the alpha, and all alphas before him, never thought about jimin as a person.
not just an omega. a person with feelings and he‘d want to love and to be loved too, wasn‘t it asking too much? it‘s always seem to be so easy because alphas always need to be paired up with omegas. if it was his fate like this why wasn’t he born a beta?
living like a normal person. doesn‘t have to be in heat all the time. doesn‘t have this stinky pheromones that do more harm than good for himself.

jimin didn‘t cling to namjoon. although he desperately wanted to. but judging from the beginning of their relationship
there was nothing jimin could do. he was a loser all along. so he sucked it up and tried to forget. when his separating papers was done they‘s still have a year left until they‘re completely free from each other. jimin‘s parents tried to console him,
they felt guilty as the whole thing was about them wanting him to settle down. his parents were so mad that they cut all ties with namjoon’s family, along with all the investment.

he wondered what his mother-in-law thought about this. he hadn’t tried to contact her again,
and he doubt that she’d contact him since it already ended like this.

“you can do whatever you wanna do, from now on,” his mom told him, “i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have rush you into it, i thought he was such a good match.”
it hurt every fiber in his body to function again. but jimin can’t keep moping around at home, his family and friends were worried, so he started to teach more classes. time became something so fleeting, he’d forget to eat, sometimes his body would
operate on its own and jimin had no idea how he got home. but when facing with the four walls he started to miss namjoon again and he’d feel so miserable he could hardly stand it.

“teacher,” someone called him and he startled, “you ok?” looking up at the younger alpha.
it was a familiar face. though he had lost track of time and wasn’t able to remember when did this alpha become a regular here.

“i’m fine.” he replied.

“you don’t look so good. in fact, i think you’ve been looking really tired lately.” the alpha frowned.
“am i? i’m sorry. i didn’t remember you.”

“ah, my name is jungkook. i’ve been practicing here for half a year with my dance crew on afternoon,” he looked flustered. “but i always just catched glimpse of you as you weren’t teaching as regularly as now.”
jimin nodded. “nice to meet you, jungkook-ssi.” and they shook hands, and there was this boyish nervousness from jungkook that made jimin chuckle.

“are you heading home? it’s pretty late already. did you have dinner?”

“not yet.”
“would you like to grab something together? i’m starving and there was this casual restaurant just opened right across our building.”

“i’m sorry, jungkook-ssi. but i need to go home.” jimin just want to get home as he felt a little light-headed.
had been feeling like that for several days already.

“oh... okay, maybe next time.”

“next time.” jimin smiled at the alpha politely when he saw the younger looking somewhat disappointed. the omega then turned his back to walk away, but he hadn’t able to go
too far that he felt out of breath and everything slowly turned dark.

when he woke up, he was in an emergency bed. jungkook was by his side and immediately perked up from his phone when he saw jimin awake.

“where am i?” he asked.
“the hospital...” the alpha replied. “you fainted and everybody freaked out... and i freaked out too so i carry you here. it’s near our studio anyway...” jungkook’s face turned a shade of pink.

jimin hadn’t had time to register when a young beta doctor came to his bed,
“i told you he’d be fine.” she said to jungkook, and the alpha blushed.

“you,” she looked at jimin with fondness, “i think you have some good news to tell him.”

“what?” jimin was totally confused.

“oh? you didn’t know?”
“i didn’t know what?” and why would i need to tell a stranger alpha anything?

“well,” she hesitated. “i examinated and you’re healthy, just need a little more iron. and you’re with child already, so maybe next time be careful and don’t overwork yourself.”
jimin couldn’t believe his ears. “... with child? you mean i’m pregnant?”

the doctor nodded. “probably you need to get checked by obgyn department, but from all the test results, yes, you’re pregnant.”

“i don’t know what to do with this information...” jimin mumbled to himself.
“you’re fine, so just leave your information and insurance at the front desk and you’re discharged. i’ll prescribe you some vitamins.” she took a look at jungkook, jimin almost forgot here was there. “he needs rest, he shouldn’t be working.”
“he’s not my alpha.” jimin replied.

“oh? i thought... my bad.” the doctor seemed surprised. “he made such a big fuss when he brought you here, we thought...”

“please stop talking.” jungkook tried to hide his embarrassment by interjecting, and the woman chuckled.
“i’m sorry... i couldn’t smell an alpha on you... i should’ve asked around first.” jungkook apologized to jimin when the doctor had left.

“i don’t have an alpha.” jimin told him, and pulled out his phone to call his family. jungkook didn’t say anything anymore,
but he stayed with jimin until his mom got there. there was a lot of things in jimin’s mind, he really didn’t know what to do with this, now that he and namjoon were already separated. it has been... two months? since their last contact.
when jimin told his parents what the doctor said, they were as shocked as him. and his mom took him to a hospital the next day, and jimin got the chance to finally see his pup.

it was very real. the baby was the size of a pea. he can hear its heartbeat. it was very, very real.
the omega doctor told him that now that he was aware of it he needed to stay home, the pup was still small and after she went through his medical record, it was very likely that he could have a miscarriage if he continue to engage in heavy physical activities,
such as dancing, and she told him that his mental state will also affect his pregnancy, so it’s best that he tries to stay as positive and carefree as possible.

“we don’t need to tell them,” his mom said. “you have me and your father, i’ll take care of my grandchild,
although i would really like them to have a father... it’s up to you. but i don’t want to stress you out, you decide and we will listen. a baby...” she can’t hide the excitement his her voice, “i never thought you could... oh my god i’m so happy, so happy jimin ah.”
jimin spent quite sometime to ponder his situation. he loved namjoon, he wanted to have a child with namjoon. that was before. now he still loved namjoon, but he had came to understand that the alpha will never love him back, what was left for jimin would always be
loneliness and betrayal, and namjoon made it so clear that he married jimin because he expected no children.

not once the thought of abortion crossed his mind. he wanted this pup, although he would prefer that it wasn’t namjoon’s, but he had longed for this for too long.
he would never hurt his child, and he would never let this child get hurt.

he grabbed his phone and called namjoon, trembling with nervousness as he waited for the alpha to pick up.

“how are you?” was the first thing that voice said, and jimin pushed down the urge to hang up.
“i’m fine.” he replied, trying his best to make it short. “listen, namjoon, i’m pregnant.”

the other side of the line stayed quiet, and so jimin continued, “i’m not calling to ask you to comeback, i just thought you should know.”

“and what do you want to do with it?”
the older asked, and jimin can’t detect namjoon’s emotion through the phone.

“do i have options?”

“if you want to keep it, i’ll... i’ll provide. i’ll send you money monthly and—“

“i don’t need your money, namjoon.”

“i know. but what else can i do?”
there was this... bitterness. and also pettiness. they started to roam inside jimin’s body.

and so he replied, “you don’t need to do anything. i’ll have an abortion.”

“abortion? jimin, that’s your only chance.”

“i know, but i hate you and
i don’t want to have anything to do with you. i don’t even want to share a child with you, namjoon. let’s this sink in that it’s not me who decide to kill our baby, but it’s you. i have enough money to raise the baby all on my own, but i’ll abort it and destroy
my life because it’s *your* baby. that’s how much i hate you. that’s how much i’ll never forgive you.”

jimin hung up before namjoon could reply. he then blocked namjoon’s number. and after that he went downstairs to tell his parents that he wanted to go to their summer
mansion to live for a while, as it was in the outskirts and it’ll be better for him and the baby. and he told them that he didn’t want namjoon and his family to know about any of this. this baby is his and his alone.
after jimin hung up, namjoon dialed back immediately to know that he was blocked. he called jimin’s parents in a panic, and all they said was that they’ll support jimin in his decision and namjoon is a stranger so he should stay out of their bussiness.
he didn’t know what to feel. he was a horrible person to jimin, and he tried to not contact the omega, pretended that as time passed, jimin wouldn’t be this angry. even if he didn’t love jimin, he had been thinking of the younger as a close friend,
one he can tell all his secrets to, and always be there when he was troubled. he knew he did something unforgivable to jimin, but he certainly didn’t want jimin to... do this.

a child, he thought, his own baby. jimin had so many times expressed his desire to bear a pup,
and namjoon deliberately took advantage of jimin’s condition. he didn’t think he was wrong, after all didn’t he deserve to have his own happy ending? the ending he had longed for for too long? he had only feeling guilty because he didn’t mean to hurt jimin,
he really did try to love the wonderful omega, he wouldn’t have made so many efforts if he weren’t serious.

“what’s troubling you?” mirae asked him. and he told her about the phone call.

“that’s cold,” she said, “i would never abort my pup.” and namjoon casted
his eyes to in front of the TV, where her daughter was playing.

“and i certainly would never abort *our* pup.” she added, and namjoon had to walk outside.

he tried to not think about it too much, he tried to continue his life.
his parents were mad, although his father didn’t make it personal as namjoon was still an important member of the company, namjoon slowly planned for his own company. mirae and his parents can’t be in the same room, and he wouldn’t make her sit through that.
he never heard back from jimin. there were no particular news, and all of their meetings were through lawyers. jimin hated namjoon so much he made sure they completely dissapeared from each other’s life. and that was for the best,
but namjoon couldn’t help but feeling a little loss as he’d lost a good friend. that was three good years, they respected each other, jimin took care of him as he was ususlly overworked, he went so far as pouring his heart out to jimin,
he never did that with the exception of one person.

he wanted to take this slow, so he had only been visitting mirae. a lot had changed. namjoon supposed his expectation for the omega was unreasonable, as they had grew too far from those early days.
he was happy they can finally be together, but there was always something off. the now-mirae was still gentle, and still knew how to say all the right words to him, but she wasn’t the mirae he remembered, the mirae who had extended her hand to him when he was lost and confused.
she was now, always calculating, never let her guard down even just for once. but maybe it was namjoon that was wrong, he shouldn’t think that, he should try to make up for all the years they had been apart.

“oh my god, oh my god,” an employee grabbed someone
as they were getting coffee from the coffee machine under the stairs. they probably didn’t see him as he always sat on the stairs sipping his coffee, like when he was still in highschool. that wasn’t what a director should do, though nobody would see him.
“oh my god, i couldn’t believe my eyes!”

“what? don’t make me nervous and just spill it out already.” that voice sounded like his secretary.

“your boss’ ex-husband, i saw him yesterday at the supermarket with an alpha.”

“and? that’s not that big of a deal.”
“don’t you want to know why they separated? it was... five? four months ago? right?”

“and?”

“i think that omega cheated on your boss. his belly was huge, looked at least six months to me, and the young alpha who was with him was... dreamy, to say the least.”
namjoon widened his eyes. as he listened to their conversation, most of it was mindless gossip anyway, but he couldn’t help but keep thinking about that. was it really jimin? if it was him, did he lie to namjoon?

it wasn’t gonna be a surprise if jimin really decided
to keep the pup, namjoon carefully thought. jimin was always insecure about his condition, and had expressed interested in surrogate as namjoon’s mother suggested. the alpha went on to check jimin’s social media accounts, and there were no bump on his belly,
but then it namjoon could see that those recent photos weren’t taken recently, as one of the pics was when jimin was with him in an event a year ago.

he wanted to contact jimin just to confirm, but he can’t, not when jimin and his family refused to even speak to him like this.
so he did the best he could, he hired a private detective. and to his surprise, he did pray that it was his child in jimin’s belly, pray that jimin didn’t have an abortion just because namjoon wronged him, he wouldn’t want to live with the guilt jimin had left him.
jimin was ugly, he had gotten so huge. after 20 weeks (he uses ‘weeks’ to measure time now) his doctor said he didn’t need to worry about miscarrying anymore and so he was finally moving back to the city though he didn’t want to live with his parents,
he rented an apartment downtown in a relatively safe neighborhood. it was close to lots of restaurants so whenever he was craving he could order in 15 minutes. his mom came check up almost everyday, nagging about how he should stay with them instead, but jimin just ignored her.
he liked to be independent, got used to a private lifestyle through his marriage to namjoon. he will be fine. especially when jungkook did most of the chores.

jimin was skeptical. jungkook didn’t stop pursue jimin after he learned that jimin had no alpha,
the younger seemed sincere when he told jimin that he had a massive crush on jimin just by seeing the omega once at the studio, and he wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about jimin after. he didn’t care if it wasn’t his pup, he would take care of jimin and the baby.
what was even more strange was that jimin, after a few attempts to avoid jungkook, started to feel sorry and agreed to meet once. and then, when the younger stood before him, jimin had the urge to crawl into his arms. he talked to his doctor about this and she said
it was normal for omega to crave an alpha prescene when they were with pup, as omega wasn’t like a beta, they relied heavily on scents and the feeling of stability. since namjoon wasn’t there, jimin’s instinct instanly jumped to the next best thing.
he should feel bad, but when they were watching TV and jungkook held him so close from behind, he could pretend that he was happy with another alpha, and they were expecting a baby. he was wrong for treating jungkook like that, but the younger was head over heels for jimin,
and namjoon was gone from his life. and it didn’t matter, as long as he and his pup can feel safe and warm. there was nothing to believe in as he never expected anything from jungkook, he won’t love anyone anymore, he will only dedicate himself to the baby inside him.
the bell rang, and jimin stirred on the couch. he slept a lot these days. “please get the door, will you?” he mumbled, and then he remembered jungkook left for grocery shopping. and the bell rang again. he stood up in annoyance.
he never thought he’d see that familiar face through the peephole. jimin didn’t open the door, he pretended that nobody was home. but then namjoon said out loud, “i know you’re in there. please, we need to talk.” jimin thought there was nothing to talk about.
“how did you know my address? how did you get here? i don’t recall sharing anything with you.”

“please, jimin. just... can we talk? we haven’t seen each other in months.”

“if you want to tell me something, anything, you go through my lawyer. you don’t come here looking for me.”
“when are you gonna tell me you didn’t abort our baby? when are you gonna tell me that i’m gonna be a father?”

“you’re crazy. you need to go. my alpha will comeback soon, and i’ll call the police.”

“jimin, you don’t wanna call the police. you can be stubborn
and refuse to see me, then i’ll not play nice and get the court involved. you technically got pregnant while we were married, and we haven’t been separating for a year, the pup is also mine by law.”

“fuck off!” jimin hated this person, now namjoon was trying to threaten him?
“open the door, please! i just wanna... clear things up.”

“there’s nothing to clear up. i am not pregnant with your child!” jimin shouted, and tears started to fall. pregnancy reduced him to an emotional pulp. he turned back inside despite namjoon’s pleading,
went into his bedroom and closed the door. he didn’t want confrontation, he didn’t want stress, didn’t want to feel angry, so he crawled under the cover and tried his best to ignore the alpha, hoping that namjoon will go away on his own.

and then he heard the door clicked.
jimin ran out to see jungkook entered his apartment, „come on in, I‘ll get him,“ the young alpha cheerfully said.

„get out!“ jimin shouted with his shaking body, making jungkook freeze on the spot.

he got the chance to finally see namjoon in person after too long,
oh god how he missed that face. i wanted to hate namjoon with all his might, had tried so hard to avoid seeing him, as he had learned to cold turkey from all his previous relationships. but this was soon, too soon.

„uh... i thought...“ jungkook hesitated,
and jimin didn’t realize his tears were streaming down. he thought, there was some tiny part of him—because he can never be as strong as he wanted to—it wanted namjoon to apologize, to say that he was wrong and to beg for jimin’s comeback.
“jimin,” namjoon spoke with a halt, as if he was afraid something would happen to jimin, “please, can we talk? i’m not gonna do anything... i just wanna talk.”

“but i don’t want to.” jimin replied, “there is nothing to talk about. jungkook, tell him to go.”
“i’m sorry i didn’t know. but he doesn’t want to see you, so... you need to go.” jungkook darted forward to stand between jimin and namjoon as he saw jimin crying.

“do you really want our pup to be born without a father?” namjoon asked, didn’t seem to want to back off.
“you. are. not. the. father.”

the older alpha snorted, “oh, so the... young thing here is the father? how long have you been with him? three weeks?”

“you are not the father the moment you decided you’ll raise another person’s daughter instead of your own. your child is dead.”
jimin was trembling with anger, and he felt a sharp pain inside his belly.

namjoon lunched forward the moment jimin tumbled down, it took a moment for jungkook to realize what was happening.

jimin hissed in pain, won’t anything happen to his baby?
he shoved namjoon away in a desperate attempt to avoid the alpha’s touch, and he could see the hurt in namjoon’s eyes.

“are you okay?” jungkook urgently asked, he picked jimin up and carried him to the couch.
“are you hurt somewhere? is the baby okay? what was that? should we go to the hospital?”

namjoon was silent while jungkook fussing over jimin, and the omega didn’t say anything too. go away, go away, he prayed.
“don’t you think it’s unfair, jimin? you dropped the news on the phone, i have 2 seconds to think, what should i say? you didn’t give me time yet already decided everything on your own.” the older alpha solemnly said.

“and did you give me a choice on our marriage?
you threw me away like i was nothing.”

“when there’s a baby involved, it’s gonna be different, jimin. i’m not gonna abandon my pup.”

“you are truly shameless to come here and act like i need you to save me, to take me back, just because you think my baby is yours.
i aborted our pup, you can go and have your pup with your beloved omega, it’s that easy.” jimin let out a cruel laugh, “and if you want to get the court involve, you’re welcome to do so. i’m not scared. i’m their dam, i’ll get custody for the first two years,
and worst case scenario when you can fight for shared custody, i will taught them to hate you, just because i can.”

namjoon looked at jimin, there was something... unreadable in his eyes. and then he too, laughed,
“god, i can’t believe you. and here i thought you were always a reasonable person.”

jimin didn’t reply, he saw the alpha turned away and left. and then he bursted out in tears again in jungkook’s arms. since when did he become so spiteful? what had namjoon done to him?
