Had a talk (interview style) with my 19 yr old who took half his OSSD courses Online. Mostly because of the flexible schedule-I wanted to know the good, bad , ugly of it all. He said that the best courses were those that were kept simple and didn’t try to use every tool possible
He said that it was overwhelming to work on the online platform that had too many features.
The most unsuccessful were those who would close the forums, discussions and have strict timelines- as soon as he was locked out, he’d give up.
He liked courses that offered less assignments, but more depth and provided organized structure.
He is taking one right now and likes that it has flexible due dates and some choice of assignments.
