All the stuff with China explicitly ostracizing black people is awful, but idk how I feel about people using that as evidence against the use of "POC" rhetoric.

Just like how our conceptualizations of race and experiences of racism are unique to the United States and it's (1/4)
history, I feel like (citation needed) the term POC was created to refer to communities of color WITHIN this country. This is because in a system that favors whiteness above all other groups, there is a solidarity to be had among ethnic minorities.
The Chinese government doesn't give a fuck about racial solidarity,, by our American standards they are almost totally racially homogenous. Furthermore, shit that goes down in China doesn't say anything about the character of Asian people living nextdoor to you.
And y'all should know tht since just a few weeks ago, we were shaming ppl for blaming all Asians for COVID. When u hear 'POC', the connotation isn't "every human being in the Global South", is it? Shouldn't be. So stop using events abroad to judge a term created for domestic use.
