My problem with alot of Black shows these days is they are so focused on making it “BLACK” with the AAVE, twitter topics, that Blackness in small acts are ignored. No shower caps, no cleaning meat with citrus, no vicks in the shots. Its all “Tea, shade, nigga, YASSS, light skin”

Something as small as the placement of blue magic jar on a dresser or plastic on the protagonists parents couch means way more than recycling old twitter topics for your dialogue. Its almost as if they make these shows for white people?

Im watching Boomerang on BET btw. I think Insecure and Atlanta do way better job. I think the best Ive seen on a huge Network is Random Acts of Flyness

And I will NOT stop hate watching the show!!!

I will finish off by saying that you are Black. Theres no need to force “Blackness” or make it digestible for audiences. We will understand its a Black story because, YOU a BLACK PERSON wrote it :)
