Progress on current writing project thread:
I& #39;m currently writing about William James& #39; The Will To Believe, been working on it for 3 or 4 months maybe and it is currently maybe 15,000 words, still pretty rough
my current idea is that it will comprise a series of shorter pieces
for the last few days i have been working on a component piece on & #39;the will& #39; as a faculty of the mind and James& #39; conception of the will in his Psychology: The Briefer Course and in The Will To Believe
the Dawkins thing i wrote was intended to be a take down, but this one is not, but this one will be explicatory - uncovering the nub
as with the Dawkins thing, i& #39;m not looking at any secondary literature at all, not because i don& #39;t think it would help, but because i want to figure it out myself and i want to grapple with James and not a bunch of other people
anyways, i just want some public record of what i& #39;m working on, so i will try to update this thread occasionally
