So last night Audrey (my 5yo) asked me to “dress fancy”. I did, and then she and @rachelwecht told me to hang out in another room while they got ready.
(this is what I wore)
After a few minutes, Rachel took me outside the house, where I saw this sign on the front door.
Rachel and I walked inside, and a very small waitress was standing there holding menus. She said “Welcome to the restaurant ‘Fancy Audrey’. Can I help you?” We asked for a table for 3 and were promptly seated here:
We were seated and given these menus. (The potatoes got crossed out because “daddy, I don’t like potatoes”.)
The waitress (who was also the hostess) took our orders and promptly left. Shortly after this, Audrey showed up and told me how much she liked this restaurant and asked me if I noticed the waitress’s very fancy dress as well as the overall fanciness of the restaurant.
Rachel left to go do something while Audrey and I made small talk. At some point Audrey left again and then the waitress showed up with our food, which she did a very careful job of carrying.
Rachel eventually came back and we all enjoyed our very fancy dinner. After we finished, Audrey left and the waitress returned with dessert menus.
We all picked the ice cream sundae, which was delicious.
At the end of the meal, Audrey left again, and the waitress came back and handed me a bill. I asked if I could leave a cash tip but was told that all I needed to do was sign it, which I did.
All in all, I would very much recommend the restaurant “Fancy Audrey.” The service is excellent (and very talkative) and the food is prepared with love. It’s a pretty exclusive joint but let me know if you want a reservation - I’m on good terms with someone who works there.
