Eugenics has never been just about reproduction and birth. It’s always, always been about whose life is considered more valuable.
Access to healthcare is an issue of eugenics. Ventilator access is an issue of eugenics. Triage, institutionalization, incarceration, education, our response to abuse of and violent crimes against disabled people.
Cw that I should have included in the beginning: abuse, medical torture, eugenics, medical trauma

Medical experimentation is an issue of eugenics and it still happens today. We know teeth rot because people with Down syndrome were denied access to toothpaste in experiments.
Cw again, eugenics, murder

This is historically true, not just ideologically/ethically. There is no eugenics program/movement that has not included the justification and perpetration of murder, abuse, neglect, torture and isolation against marginalized people.
I gotta not talk about this too often for my own mental health because absolutely nothing in this world makes me sicker and angrier than this conversation. You are playing with genocide and a long history of torture and dehumanization like it’s a toy you can bat around. Stop.
And: if you still think eugenics is and historically has been an issue of just fertility/abortion, you aren’t ready to have the conversation.
Finally, saying that eugenics is just “choosing what you might want in a child” is like the people who say you’re not being sexist unless you’re standing on a street corner saying you hate women and think they’re inferior to men. Come on. Let’s be grown-ups.
