#bkdk ABO / oblivious mates

when midoriya and bakugou enter UA it’s very obvious they are mates

it’s also astounding, they are still too young and their relationship is weird and intense

even the faculty is surprised they don’t ask for a mate suite, they bunk individually

and simply request to use one of the heat/rut rooms when it’s their

they act more like childhood friends turned rivals but they are still mates when it counts

for example, bakugou is a provider. he's a spoiling alpha hellbent in giving midoriya everything he wants or needs

he’s constantly giving midoriya stuff in his grumpy way

he’ll leave a bento on his desk every day with a note saying EAT IT OR DIE and an explosion doodled in a corner

or he’ll bring him stuff back from home and shove it in his face while he's busy with his friends

“what’s this kacchan?”

“the old hag sent you some samples of her new products and dad sent you the new prototype hoodie you fawned over last time you were at his workshop”

“ooooh,” midoriya smiles brightly up his mate “please tell mitsuki-san and masaru-san thank you”

“thank them yourself on our next break” bakugou huffs and then whispers “did i get something from aunty inko?”

“oh! yes!” midoriya stands abruptly and drags him away

the rest of the class resumes what they were doing before used already to their resident mated pair shenanigans

and there’s also midoriya, soft and sweet and horribly possessive

bakugou is… you know... handsome

he’s no todoroki but he’s definitely up there enough to receive fanmail from clueless extras

midoriya hates it

he always goes to bakugou’s shoebox first thing

and smells the letters so he can trace down the culprits

then he corners them and sweetly tells them to back off, “kacchan doesn’t like extras trying to distract him from training, you know?” he’ll tell them, sweet as pie “don’t you want him to be number one?”

they’ll get midoriya scent, angry and bristling and thoroughly combined with bakugou’s

“i didn’t know” some of them, the bravest, will say “i’m sorry i overstepped”

“don't worry but, please” midoriya will say, his smile terrifying “don’t let me catch you anywhere near kacchan”

however, bakugou is still the worst of the two

shindo is an asshole and a bully and he likes midoriya on sight

sure, midoriya smells claimed but he and his mate don’t act very lovey dovey

maybe there’s trouble in paradise?

so he goes ahead and courts midoriya

he visits UA and brings him limited edition hero paraphernalia and fresh baked treats and midoriya accepts because he’s very naive and very oblivious

the rest of the class is shocked! he’s a mated guy!

and bakugou is fuming

he’s so angry but he can’t understand why

that night he goes to midoriya’s room, almost blasts the door of its hinges

“why the fuck are you accepting stuff from that fuck face? eh, deku?” he yells as soon as midoriya opens the door

“why are you so angry? they are presents!”

midoriya yells back, bakugou sour mood affecting him “you give me presents ALL THE TIME”

“YEAH, BUT I’M… I” bakugou backs down, breathing hard

“YOU’RE WHAT?”

“he’s your mate, idiot!” mineta interrupts, he’s trying to browse his special collection in peace, dammit!

“WHAT?!” they both scream in unison

tokoyami, who’s a better person and a decent floormate, closes midoriya’s door to give the two idiots some privacy

“we are not mates, are we kacchan?” deku whispers, katsuki won't look at him “we just spend our cycles together, as friends”

“every cycle since our revealing, deku”

“and surely those bites didn’t count, we were very young”

“we still have the marks”

“and… and you don’t even like me”

“deku, i make a bento for you every single day. you spend as much time in my house as you do in yours.

half the clothes in your closet are mine”

“but…”

“don’t you like me, then?”

“kacchan! how can you say that?!” deku starts crying, he goes to katsuki and pushes him “you’re my most important person but i can’t…”

“you can’t what, nerd? love me?”

“I CAN’T FORCE YOU TO LOVE ME BACK!”

“fucking nerd” katsuki mumbles before tackling midoriya to the floor “you are my mate! you are the only person i want to spend the rest of my life with! i want only you!”

deku is still crying as he pulls katsuki in a kiss

“we are so stupid,” he whispers after, both of them laying on his bed in a tangle of limbs “we have been mated all this time!”

“that explains why the old hag insisted on changing my bed to a king size!” they both blush “i’m requesting a mate suite first time tomorrow”

“ok, kacchan”

“and deku, my omega, if another alpha even looks at you i’m killing them, ok?”

“so dramatic, my alpha”
