1/Immediate re-opening of the economy, or not?

Either way can be viable, if done in a thoughtful, responsible way.

But whoever in power does it in a half-assed way need to be held ACCOUNTABLE for his/her actions.
2/rapid re-opening (herd immunity via infection):

massive testing - active carriers of COVID19 take sick leave and isolate themselves

personal responsibility - non-centralized contact tracing allowing sick people to notify their RECENT HIGH-RISK contacts (65+ people etc) ASAP
3/guided treatment - stockpiles of HCQ/Remdesivir/antibody; guildlines for doctors to tailor individual& #39;s treatment regimen

Assuming we all get infected twice (because IgG may not last very long) in the next 18 months, we might as well figure out our individual regimen now.
4/ ample PPE for high-risk groups.

This route is a genetic lottery at an individual level. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😒" title="Unamused face" aria-label="Emoji: Unamused face"> but overall the nationwide economy can bounce back to normal in 4-6 months.
5/ lock-down route (China/SK route)

massive testing - to identify and isolate carriers
shelter hospitals - minimizing COVID19 carriers in public
economic support - temp workers in delivery & healthcare, loan deferment + basic income for unemployed
massive PPE - for everyone
6/ end game - effective monoclonal antibody or vaccine.

This route takes longer, may cost the economy more, but will save more lives, especially among the elderly.
7/ What frustrates me is that we are adopting a half-ass midway approach, resulting the worst of both worlds:

not saving more lives, and not saving more money.

Decision makers must be held accountable.
