Forever annoyed that the default idea for "remastered" or "better" game music is to orchestrate it
I just heard some of the FF7-R OST that isn't that, and I'm so glad they broke from the tradition to um... go back to what the actual tradition was previously. Thank god.
One of the freshest examples of this in my mind is when they remade Bloody Tears as an orchestral action song for the Castlevania Netflix series. The strings seriously can't keep up with that melody and fall all over each other. It sounds horrendous.
I don't want what already happened to movie scores to happen to games, but I fear the industry is ACTIVELY trying to follow it. I can count the interesting film scores per year on one hand now.
